Tom Butler is back in training - and Brendan Rodgers is delighted for him

The Swansea City manager told the Evening Post "Tom has started back training and we are pleased for him,

"He has worked very hard and very thoroughly to get back, and it's good to see him with the rest of the group again.

"He has got terrific qualities and a brilliant personality — he is the sort of player you want to have around.

"It's been a difficult year for Tom because I know he has been a good player for Swansea," Rodgers added.

"But I like him — he has got intelligence and he is a good lad on top of that.

"He is a clever player on the pitch and off it he understands what we are trying to do.

"Tom's first target is to work his way into a position where he is available again," Rodgers said.

"He was looking really good when he was building up towards his last comeback, but then the injury struck again.

"He has now put in the work again to get to this stage and hopefully, over the next couple of weeks, he can get himself football-fit.

"If he can get that fitness back, he will be a good player for us to have around."
