Leeds began their pre-season tour of Slovenia witha 3-1 win over a Slovenian select 11 with around 300 Leeds fans making the journey to Eastern Europe. Matt Smith continued his goal scoring run by opening the scoring after 10 minutes. Noel Hunt, who made Smith's opener made it 2-0 with a close range header. At the interval, Brian McDermott opted to rotate his entire starting 11 as he did at Farsley. He started with Kenny, Peltier, Lees, Pugh, Taylor, Norris, Green, Murphy, White, Smith and Hunt before returning with Cairns, Thompson, Killock, Pearce, Warnock, Brown, Tonge, Drury, McCormack, Varney, Poleon. It was Poleon who made it 3-0 with a fierce strike on 66 minutes, although Grah pulled one back on 69 minutes for the hosts,it was a relatively comfortable run-out for McDermott's men even though the mercury touched 28'c. Leeds visit FC Domzale on Saturday before arguably a stiffer test against Hungarian giants Ferencvaros next Tuesday back at tonight's venue, Fazanerija City Stadium.
