With Saints likely to sell the remaindder of the Wembley allocation within the next few days, the Club need to speak to Wembley

Currently around 38,000 tickets have been sold by Saints for the JPT Final and that is after only 2 days of the second stage of the sale, with only 6,000 tickets left and most of them likely to be snapped up by the weekend, its looking like there will be few left for general sale.

However at the moment fans are completely in the dark about whether extra tickets will be made available.

With a stadium that holds 90,000 surely its ludicrous to effectively cap the crowd at around 65,000, which the total looks set to be, with Carlisle having sold around the 20,000 mark.

It cant be a question of safety, after all the staium has had many games with a full house , so surely they should be able to release Saints more tickets.

Im sure Carlisle would feel happy if that were to be the case, yes their fans would be well outnumbered, but in these credit crunch days, football clubs need all the money they can get and the Cumbrian side would  surely rather partake in a share of the revenue of an extra 10,000 or so than not.

According to the Carlisle United official web site Wembley have told them their is unlikely to be sales on the day due to segregation issues, what issues ? its all a simple matter of having two ticket offices open, one for each club, fans from both sides arent going to be interested in doing anything other than sitting in their own sections, so surely the safest thing to do is ensure this is managed effectively, rather than having groups of disgruntled ticketless fans outside wondering why there are plenty of empty seats inside.

So time for Saints to take the iniative, obviously the first thing to do is ensure that Carlisle have exhausted all the tickets they need, sales up there are now tailing off and with 5,000 still left, its unlikely they will need more than their 25k allocation, that being the case Wembley can surely announce that they can give an extra 10,000 to Saints which surely would be enough, and would still leave a buffer zone of 16,000 empty seats if all were sold.

For Saints its important that they realise the enormity of the situation, this trip to Wembley should be a celebration of the fact we are still here, the week after Wembley sees the first anniversary of us going into administration, as it stands probably most of Saints adult support will have tickets but its the younger generation that we should also want to be at Wembley, those extra tickets will be snapped up by families and the younger generation, perhaps those that havent been to St Mary's very much, not only can we get them interested in the club with this day out, but its more vital income in merchandising.

So come on Saints take the initiative talk to Wembley, but more importnatly tell the fans you are talking to them and make sure they know you are doing everything to get more tickets.
