Next Leeds Boss: "Be careful what you wish for Dave...."

The next Leeds' Manager odds throw up some interesting and worrying links!

On Saturday afternoon, the name of Dave Hockaday was being bandied about as the new favourite, his name had most of us scurrying for Wikipedia, Teeside born Hockaday is a veteran of 600 odd games in the lower leagues for the likes of Blackpool, Hull and Swindon and as well as a couple of stints on the coaching staff at Watford, Leicester and Southampton, has just four years at Forest Green Rovers on his CV. He left Forest Green last October after a disappointing start to the season for "the little club on the hill".

It might seem madness to put such an inexperienced coach in charge of a club Leeds' size, many of Brian McDermott's critics argued that the Leeds job was just to big for the ex Reading and Slough man, but it appears Massimo Cellino is changing the structure of the management team at Elland Road and it's likely the new-man will be "assisted" by Benito Carbone, the clubs' consultant and possibly a Sports Director responsible for incoming transfers etc.

More worrying another Dave rumour doing the rounds is Dave Jones! The former Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday boss is a hated figure amongst United fans and the feeling is mutual. Jones famously branded Leeds fans "vile animals" after our clash at Hillsborough in 2012 in response to chants about his personal life. Fortunately this seems to be just tittle-tattle mischief making!

Signor Cellino's compatriots such as Benito Carbone, Claudio Ranieri, Roberto Di-Matteo, Paolo Di Canio and 2-1 favourite Gianluca Festa, who Cellino employed as a consultant whilst surveying the club, are unsurprisingly featured in the betting.

Nigel Gibbs for me is an interesting one at 7-1 on Sky Bet, Gibbs was involved in putting together the retained list last month and as yet hasn't left the club. Gibbs arrived as McDermott's assistant and pointedly McDermott thanked the former Watford man and wished him luck in his exit statement. Gibbs took charge along with Neil Redfearn when we demolished Huddersfield 5-1 in the wake of Brian's first departure, so would it be that much of a surprise if either men were to have their own roles re-assessed. Redders however is something of an outsider at 20-1!

So who would you choose as our EIGHTH boss in 10 years?
