Liam Cooper's first goal for Leeds was the pick of the bunch as Leeds capitalised on an emotion-charged Elland Road to turn in a stunning first-half performance against Lee Clark's strugglers.

As today's fixture fell the nearest to Remberance Sunday, tributes were solemnly paid to the war-dead. Massimo Cellino brandished two wreaths before a serviceman marched to each goal to lay the wreath's. The "last post" was played prior to a minutes silence.

Leeds started the game high tempo and pushed Blackpool, who wore a bizarre black, tangerine and white kit back. It was no injustice or surprise when we took a 9th minute lead when following a melee in the box Liam Cooper who had surged from defence slammed home a left volley past Joe Lewis to put us in front.

Unlike the defensive days of Darko or hapless times of Hockaday, we continued to pile on the pressure to extend our lead and Adryan, the brilliant Brazilian who Redfearn's predecessors seemed reluctant to unleash picked out Doukara with the perfect ball from the right flank and Souleymane's run was perfectly timed for his sixth of the season on 31.

On 42 minutes it was 3-0, today I finally succumbed to the temptation of spending £60 on our stylish away shirt, the name on the back is Antenucci 34, I just love how the little Italian constantly runs, closes down and causes havoc up front and he had double reason to celebrate having become a father to a daughter this weekend when he saw a deflected shot gain just desserts for his endeavours and we thoroughly deserved our handsome lead.

At half-time we were rubbing our hands in anticipation of a drubbing, maybe 5-0, the score three years ago when the Tangerines aided by their ex keeper Paul Rachubka rattled up, however the Seasiders looked a different proposition and we looked uncomfortable and off the pace.

Lee Clark introduced Nile Ranger, the striker who apparently was on David Hockaday's radar last summer, he did cause some problems and when he beat the offside trap on 75 there were fears Blackpool could run us into the ground, six minutes injury time didn't help either but although we had clearly stepped off the gas we ended up comfortable winners. A much needed win going into the international break with three difficult games to follow at Blackburn and Ipswich with a home clash against leaders Derby Inbetween.
