I doubt whether Saints would be inclined to sack a third manager in just over two years at this stage in the season. The situation we are in is worrying, but not yet serious. However, defeat against Newcastle could change all that. Last season the board dithered in making a managerial change till far too late and we escaped relegation by the skin of our teeth. It could well be that the availability of a seemingly quality manager like Jardim and the never ending saga of lack of home games won, might overcome the board's reluctance to pay out yet another manager's and playing staff's redundancy packages.

I'll be glad to see Hughes OUT and to see Jardim IN, but I am not sure that Jardim is a spoon for our mouth at all. In the present days, the Siants team is ruined, in my opinion. He is not expiring with a style of playing and results as well. Honestly speaking, currently the team is the worst team in PL. No defense, no attack - we have nothing. And it is not the fault of the players.....who are pathetic, most of them. But if we want to stay in PL this year we should sack abysmal Hughes and take someone like Jardim or Alardyce. We need someone to kick some asses...

It would be good if this were to be true. I have no great confidence in Hughes - 14 points from 17 games is a pretty poor record. Obviously yet another manager leaving would not look good but better to do it when a decent replacement is available.

but if you include only Monaco - where he was for 4+years - he won 53.8% of the games when he was manager...

I am seeing the signs of improvement. Not least starting with two up front and trying to win games rather than the awful football of the last two years when we could go all game with only one shot at goal.

But that's the reason why this story is just rumor mongering: He will go to a good, ambitious club willing to spend money. That's not us any more.

Saints right now are toxic to quality managers and players--they won't risk coming to a club that has been in a downward spiral for the last two years. It will hurt their careers.

Don't p1ss about. Get him now. We all know how it will play out with Sparky. Let's avoid months of frustration and anger if we have the opportunity to do so.

You can have a poor team with a clever coach and get something, you can have a good team with a poor coach and still survive...but a below average team and mediocre manager is asking for trouble..
The game at Bmuff was horrible, however not losing to BOURNEMOUTH and coming alive in the last 10 minutes of a 95 minute encounter is cause for optimism, why, because what has gone before is so goddam awful...perspective is needed here, for what it's worth the Cherries will finish bottom 7 as well..

There are a lot of desperate posts on here with everyone is looking to blame SOMEONE.

The Defence - well MH has tried most available combinations ...from now on it's just to field a defence that can keep a clean sheet.. and hope for some consistancy.

The Midfield - we have a few alternatives here. Armstrong hasn't showed much since his arrival, but to be fair he hasn't had a lot of game time. JWP.?.. really hasn't impressed MH but rarely had a regular starting position and needs to have arun of games if he is to get real gametime. Davis - great club man , but with one foot out of the door.
Hjobjerg , Lemina and Redmond have all had good days, but sadly not the same day, and so our MF often looks a bit lop-sided. Few foreign imports hit the ground running and Vestergaard and Elyounoussi are typical examples -it takes time to adjust to the Prem.

Quite frankly I'm at a loss to find words for our "strike force". Ings looks like a one-man band . Our shots tally is 4th best (!) in the Prem, yet we have one of the worst conversion rates ... don't blame MH for that, he inherited them from last season, and they weren't much better then. At the moment - no-one can hit the proverbial barn door.

..so for those of you who want to blame Hughes...try this comment from Lawrie Mac
(in his managerial days )... He once said. " As a manager ..you can NEVER win. If we get a result ..the fans say the team played well. If we lose .. it's my fault 'cos I picked them" .

However, that vociferous group of fans who always want to sack the manager for poor performances (like Puel example) may yet get their way, and see Hughes out of the door but perhaps they should take a closer look at the fixture list of 8 games between Dec.1 and Jan.2 ...perhaps the matter will be out of his hands by then.

If MH is to be replaced - at least let's get someone who speaks reasonably intelligible English please.

Silly season starting early.

So the plaudits say that Saints "made a statement" at Bournemouth? They did, they showed the footballing media how useless we are at the current time. If all that can be praised is a "clean sheet" then something is seriously wrong. All those strikers and not one of them can hit a cow up the arse with a banjo! Another fight for survival this season is not a panic statement but an obvious fact. Another foreign manager? have Kruegar and Reed not learnt their lesson yet? Pay Aberdeen a sizeable compensation deal for Derek McInnes then our season will take off. The only thing to look forward to at the moment is next seasons derby games with that lot down the road.!

Just been to Rome and scouted Dzeko. We saw the league game before last nights European Cup game.

He was poor, slow and would not be able to cut it in the premiership. He had a few shots, but he did not impress.

But then he scores 2 goals last night. I did not see the game so cant comment.

Gabadinni looks shaper and a lot quicker than Dzeko.

There must be better out there.
