Darlow the way to go!

Daniel Farke has confirmed Illen Meslier will drop to the bench for Saturday's trip to Luton Town.

Speaking to the press on Thursday, Farke confirmed that Karl Darlow will get the nod between the sticks at Kenilworth Road on Saturday lunchtime.

The 32 year old ex Forest and Newcastle keeper hasn't made a league appearance this season for Leeds, but played twice for the Wales national team during the international break.

His last domestic start was nearly two months ago in the 2-0 FA Cup defeat at home to Millwall.

Farke obviously believes he needs to bring Darlow out of cold storage given the pressure on Meslier after his performance last Saturday against Swansea.

Despite saving a first half penalty, Meslier dropped the ball for the Swans first equaliser from a corner and fingers were pointed at him when he allowed a 96th minute equaliser to skim past him, although it must be said that at least four defenders were ball watching and sloppiness from Junior Firpo and Mateo Joseph created the half chance for the visitors in the first place.

Farke also confirmed he has no other major injuries to worry about. So Willie Gnonto hopefully will be fit to start replacing either Brendan Aaronsen or even Daniel James.

Luton lie in 23rd place but pulled off a surprise 1-0 win at Hull last weekend. Despite their chronic league position they'll be fighting for their lives to avoid a double-drop relegation.

A minutes applause will be held before the game in honour of Kevin Speight and Chris Loftus as the game falls on the 25th anniversary of their murders in Istanbul.
