The hold-up in announcing James Trafford's Elland Road arrival has been put down to clauses demanded by both the selling club and his agent.

Leeds are expected to seal the transfer which will cost between £40-50m depending on what source you read but it will beat the £36m we paid for Georginio Rutter four years ago.

And Trafford would become the third most costly keeper in the world behind Gianlugi Buffon and Alison Becker.

But Man City, having sold him once and bought him back apparently want an exclusive recall clause of £65m, but £10m more for any would be suitor.

And the 23-year-old keeper apparently wants a way out should we not qualify for Europe within two-seasons.

Personally I have no issue with these either way. They guarantee a profit and keep us on our toes. Why shouldn't we aim for Europe like Forest and Sunderland have?

BBC Radio Leeds Adam Pope reckons he's confident that Trafford will sign but claims other clubs are interested which may make it difficult. Newcastle and Villa have both been linked with him.

Meanwhile it holds up Lucas Perri's exit to Torino. Although Teamtalk ridiculously claimed he was in Turin at the weekend sorting out the move when he played in the second-half of our defeat to Wrexham in a pre-season friendly in Tampa!
