![]() Monday, 29th Oct 2007 09:15 Leeds sail into unchartered waters as they face Hereford United in the First Round of the FA Cup. The game has been switched to Friday night by Sky TV. It will be a weekend of first's come November 10th. Leeds United have never played in the FA Cup 1st Round. As a result of their demotion to the third tier of English football, they now do not have the luxury of joining the competition in round three! And the whites' must head to Hereford United - a club they have never met in a competitive fixture! Obviously it has the makings of a potential banana-skin cup tie. Leeds will be viewed as the massive favourites and the big-time boys heading into the sticks, against a team of underdogs. But Hereford are no mugs and currently hold sixth place in League Two. They are managed by experienced campaigner Graham Turner, who had spells in charge at Aston Villa and Wolves. Turner is also Director of Football/Chairman and a shareholder at Edgar Street. They also have striker Simon Johnson in their ranks, who began his career at Elland Road, making 12 appearances (in total) between 2000-02 without scoring a goal. Other players to wear both the white shirt of Leeds and Hereford include John Hendrie and Tony Agana. The match has been switched to Friday, November 9, kick-off 7.45pm, and will be shown live on Sky TV.
