Shocking.

(Its just a news report, not the video - which i would never do them the satisfaction of clicking on)

This is just evil, nothing to do with religion.

I read somewhere that the Jordanian pilot who was killed might have been drugged beforehand. If that were also the case here then that would explain why no-one decided to made a run for it.
Faced with certain beheading and seemingly not chained together, a bullet to the back of the head whilst trying to swim away would have seemed preferable to me.

Please say a prayer of peace for the families of these poor men. They won't be the last unfortunately.

They have their hands tied with cable ties. They wouldn't get very far.

I highly doubt they would drug them.

Egypt today has launched multiple air strikes against ISIS in Libya.

Their territory is now just 500 miles from Europe.

Let's not forget we helped them to overthrow Gadaffi and now it has come back to bite us hard....

Sadly IS seem not to be able to countenance meditation or talks mainly as they believe they are o a mission and completely justified.

It IS religion based but not about religion- if that makes sense.

Just what the attraction is for young people to join up mystifies me.

What they are doing is as bad as the Nazis. athough they were very efficient at it.

sickening stuff indeed

what was the actual reason we helped them overthrow gadaffi,

I watched a terrifying documentary about oil on Netflix, which says a lot of things but include
that in the near future we are either going to have to accept that our armies go into other countries and take their oil off them

what we seem to forget is February of last year we were going to help these lunatics militarily to overthrow Assad, until we say the footage of one of their soldiers eating the heart of one of Asads soldiers

This blood is on our hands as a country for destabilising the whole area.

They have now released images of what must be 30 christian children in orange jumpsuits in a cage with a naked flame in front.

And also 17 Jordanian men in separate individual cages and are going to burn the lot alive.

Im not sure what the answer is but this cant continue.

I hate this "nothing to do with religion" bolloxs that gets spouted repeatedly. IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION. Do you honestly believe that the 21 murderers in the said video would be murderers if they hadn't have joined ISIS? Some maybe, all never.
The fact that they are following the Quran to the letter further suggests that this might just be religiously motivated....

Agreed.

The mechanics of this are quite stark and beyond the comprehension of anyone with a normally functioning brain.

We have many people made to bow down, a sword is sharpened and aimed at the neck.

If not done properly not an instant death either.

Im wondering what went through the minds of those poor buggers as they were waiting for the sword to come down
So those appeasers of IS, those blaming other peoples for their existence, think and reflect on that
There is not even the most remote justification for anyone to die in this way.

And it is simple, we need to let our forces loose, off theleash and eliminate.
There ARE special forces who could do this job.

We ve surely gone past navel gazing and wondering why people join up- just do it.

We also need IMAMS do preach their actions are wrong and major cities world wide should have millions of muslims on the streets decrying what IS are doing

Libya was once a prosperous civilized country. The real reason Gadaffi was overthrown is a long story but it is linked to gold Dina's,private oil borches, petro dollars, oil etc etc.

We and especially the U.S. Helped fund and train these people to overthrow both the regimes of Libya and Syria. We hailed them as heroes and freedom fighters at the time.Hell we were ready to go into Syria and fight alongside them and Al Queda in order to get Assad out....luckily parliament voted against it at the last minute.

We did nt think they would form an army big enough to take on entire countries afterwards.

Now since they have turned their guns on us,a lot of which we supplied in the west, one year later we no longer call them our freedom fighter friends...we now call them terrorists.

The whole thing is seriously screwed up.

How long is this going to go on before it ends.

When the first killings happened it was said they were just seeking attention and it would stop but they appear to be getting out of control with brain washed fanatics prepared to die without any thought because of what they are told their reward will be for dying for the cause.

These are very dangerous people.

Sadly I think the chance of re-converting those members of ISIS is almost impossible. Preventing the drip-feed of those joining the group is key.

The problem you've got is that, in those areas controlled by ISIS, there are going to be large numbers forced into joining their troops against their will. It's a difficult situation, which is why countries such as ourselves are so reluctant to send in ground troops, although I dare say there are plenty of special forces missions that we're not hearing about for obvious reasons.

I tell you what ISIS need........a big collective cwtch! A good cwtch sorts everything out!!

Islamic extremists kill people because they're Christian yet that has nothing to do with religion?

How absurd.

Yes, IS do not represent the views of the majority of Muslims but it has everything to do with religion.

ISIS behead 21 Christians. on 13:20 - Feb 16 with 4743 viewsNookiejack

I think there are 2 types of ISIS militants:-

1. Psychopaths - incredibly dangerous people who have no empathy and are given free rein to do whatever they want in Iraq/Syria, Nigeria, Libya and Afghanistan.

They are a part of all of our societies and society usually can constrain them. However it is when society breaks down that there is trouble.

2. those Islamic believers in our society that have no hope of progression - so Islam gives them a cause. They then see Israel killing 2,000 Palestinians in Gaza (including 500 children) - after Israel continues to build settlements on Palestinian lands. Hence they then join up for ISIS probably not knowing what they are getting themselves into.

(Discuss 2,000 to combined number of Islamic atrocities to date - and we shouldn't forget the 500 children that were killed in Gaza).

I still think through education (no faith schools of any religious persuasion across Europe), more opportunity, Israel not continuing to seize Palestinian lands/kill Palestinians - we can win the hearts and minds war with this category of person.

Also substantial funding is thought to be being provided to ISIS from the Saudis - as they are similar 'Wahabi' conservative sect of Islam to ISIS. The West has to stop this.

It is probably a shame that the great oil wealth of the middle east didn't accrue to more moderate Islamic regimes and wealth shared out across Middle East populations.

Still not sure in my mind whether backing Saddam Hussein/Gaddafi to keep a lid on these societies was the right thing to do. After all the tortures and killings they used to commit - to any opposition.

On one hand from a utilitarian point of view (maximising pleasure/minimising pain for greatest number of people) - Iraq conflict has been a disaster with estimated 1,000,000 people deemed to have died since Saddam Hussein was overthrown and now large parts governed by the medieval ISIS regime.

On the other hand from a pure morality point of view (akin to an Immanuel Kant point of view) - can't see how you can continue to support regimes of Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi when you are aware of the tortures/crimes/gassings they are committing - even though they are keeping a lid on sectarian violence etc.

I think I err to the utilitarian view - given Iraq disaster but I suppose that is now in hindsight.

All I see there is panicked self interest. Where is the condemnation from them this week after thousands of their alien co-religionists swarmed all over the Alanbrooke Memorial in Whitehall destroying the wreaths?

The time must surely be drawing near when people will have had just about enough of this nonsense.

The reason so many people join these organisations is because they have nothing. They have no life, no job, no hope and belonging to something like this gives them that sense of belonging and purpose and chance to make something of themselves, whilst also adding a bit of excitement into their drab lives. It's partly our fault that they have nothing since we have been bombing the sh1t out of that whole region for the best part of 300 years.

You only have to look at our own armed forces recruitment techniques on the telly to show that it works, it's the young people with no future in real life that they target most.

They'll keep joining up until they've got something better to do with their lives, which at the moment is nothing.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Its not bollox you just don't agree.

It is nothing to do with religion, it is more of a cult. They have put their own spin on a religion and are fighting for control and power - not religion.

As for why people join... Why did people join in with the London riots? Do you think they were all actually doing it for one sole reason? They were doing it because they have nothing in their lives and have free reign to go wild.

Contrast purpose supporting a football team gives you v the purpose that religion can give you. The former for me? Probably lead to saving millions of lives if we stuck to supporting our football teams rather than religion.

It all depends if you see religion in terms of your old Nan and her pals organising a charity Whist Drive and Primary School Harvest Festivals or ragheads burning people alive, I suppose. There's a bit of a difference.
