Week 35 Results NORWICH 7 READING 1 Norwich scored six first-half goals, as they thrashed play-off contenders Reading. A 7-1 at Carrow Road, sounds familiar. It goes without saying nobody got this spot-on, but 4 did have the outcome. There were 12 who predicted a win for Reading, with 10 going for a 2-1. NOTTINGHAM FOREST 2 HUDDERSFIELD 0 Forest get their first win in six games, with this comfortable victory. Again no 3 pointer for anybody here, and again 4 got the outcome. There were 15 who thought Huddersfield would enhance their play-off hopes with a win. SCUNTHORPE 1 BOLTON 0 A single goal is enough to give Scunthorpe's play-off hopes a boost. There were 2 who got this spot-on, and only 1 more had the outcome. There were 18 who predicted a win for Bolton. SWINDON 1 MK DONS 1 Swindon get a 90th minute equaliser, to keep their survival hopes alive. Good news for the 2 who had this spot-on, and just 1 had the outcome. BARNET 0 LUTON 1 One goal was enough for Luton to maintain their place in the play-offs. There were 3 who had this spot-on, and a further 16 got the outcome, with 10 going for a 2-1. CRAWLEY 1 PLYMOUTH 2 Plymouth get a 94th minute winner, as they came from behind to beat 10-man Crawley. That was great news for the 7 who had this spot-on, and the 13 who got the outcome. The fixtures this week looked heavily in favour of the visitors, and most members agreed, with the 1-2 proving to be a popular result. There were a total of 44 predictions for this score, over the six games, and it took that 94th minute goal from Plymouth to finally reward those who put their faith in this score. In fact it was only that result, and Luton's 1-0 win, that guaranteed points for everybody, in what was overall another tough week. There was just one member who managed to get two 3 pointers, that was the resurgent noah4x4, who had the Scunthorpe 1-0, and that Plymouth 2-1 spot-on, and with one other outcome, he is this weeks top scorer with a very good 7 points. The ones who came out best of the twelve who got one 3 pointer, were mfb_cufc and burnsieespana, who both had three other outcomes, to get a good 6 points. In the Premier, by getting the Luton 1-0 spot-on mfb_cufc maintains his 12 point lead. That late Plymouth goal gave burnsieespana a welcome 3 pointer, and made sure the gap didn't get any bigger. It also enhanced his Charity Shield hopes, helped greatly by an unfortunate no show from the in form jonestones. As for rest of the league it is all about the 4-4-2 formation, with everybody either scoring a 4 or 2. The 4 points for sevebalo keeps him interested in a Charity Shield spot, whereas at the bottom, those 4 points for RSCOSWORTH, moved him to within 2 points of safety. In Division One, that late Swindon goal got basher2010 a 3 pointer, that was enough to keep him at the summit. Though his lead is back to a single point again, as the top scoring effort from noah4x4, helped him to reclaim the other automatic spot, he last held after Week 26. The late Plymouth winner saved Colukev from firing a blank, and still gives him every chance of an automatic spot. Another solid week for mrhappy, makes him long odds on for the play-offs now. It is as you were with the rest of the league, where concordman would be pleased to put daylight between himself and the pack, for the final play-off spot. While at the bottom Daniel is putting in a spirited effort to avoid the wooden spoon. There are just three weeks, and 26 games left to the season now. Week 36 is the last six game week of the season, DON'T FORGET THE DEADLINE FOR THIS IS 15.00 EASTER MONDAY, and then we finish with two big ten game weeks. A reminder for those who have yet to post their predictions for the Champions League quarter-finals. The competition starts again this Tuesday 11th April. THE TABLES (254 out of 280 played) (Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post) Week 36 Fixtures It is Easter time again, and there are only a handful of games on the Saturday. I was thinking of having six games on Good Friday, but to be fair to those who like to post on a Saturday, I have instead gone for six games on the Easter Monday, where we have potentially some big games from League 2.
