Was interested to see O'Neil at Ipswich was saying he felt acadeny players will become more valuable as the Premier League can no longer sign youngsters from the EU and develop them although in the flip side I guess it will mean greater competition for good youngsters. Since I first read about this I have felt the same, yes okay we might loose the odd player at a young age but provided we get financially rewarded it seems beneficial to a club like us I am not sure how many youngsters have been signed from the EU countries over the years or how many have been developed however he may at be an advantage to a good academy system.
Strong rumour from Football League World is Lincoln want Bramall. Can't be think it would be a good move as they already have two left backs but guess we will let him go as talking of a transfer fee and his contract appears to he up at the season end.
I would like to wish everybody a very Happy Christmas and thank you all for your humour this year which has helped to keep my spirits up this most difficult year. Let us hope Colchester United do us proud over the holiday period.
See Manchester City pushing for B teams in EFL as part of the cost of money from Premiership. To my mind a bad idea but as they have been let into the EFL Cup guess they already have a large nasty controlling foot in the door.
At this most difficult time may I wish you all the very best for Easter. We should have been reaching the conclusion of our season and hopefully safely in the play off spots but hey ho could be in Liverpool's situation not knowing if they will be able to get hold of the Premiership after 30 year's of waiting! Anyway stay safe everybody.
Not exactly the signing I was hoping for.....a Plymouth reject by looks of it. Surely we have youngsters already with the club. Still can't get my head round why James has not be recalled to have a run in the side.
Has made a good start at Ebbsfleet so he may yet make it as a league Manager. Rather doubted it after being at Stevenage as Assistant and then seemingly went to ever smaller clubs. Such a cultured player it would be good to see him succeed at a higher level.
Whilst sad for the fans of Bury, I am disgusted they were allowed to gain promotion since the club have now told the players they are free to leave without any fee, etc so long as they give two weeks notice as they have not been paid since March, well before season end. Evidently something like £16m is owed including a chunk to the HMRC.
We all know how we feel over this season missing out when we should have not but apare a thought how the fans of Ajax & Barca must feel this week. All credit to Liverpool & Spurs but at that level they should not have been able to make the comeback they both did. At least we now have something to look forward to without feeling 'if only it should be us'.
