Anyone remember "Postal Applications Only"? 22:54 - Mar 25 with 982 viewsDonSwan

In the light of today's events, does anyone remember "Postal Applications Only"? That's how they used to deal with big games before the advent of membership, or the internet, or even telephone ticket sales. It was hard, but it was fair.

First time I got postal tickets was in our 1968-69 season in the "top flight" against Leeds - funnily enough. I used to stand on the "grass bank" SA Road with my Dad, but the postal tickets put us behind the goal at the School End. It was heaving. The floodlights had a fault at the start of the match and it was very dim, but suddenly they came on full power, just in time to dazzle Mike Kelly in goal as Mick Jones (or was it Alan Clarke?) shot weakly for goal. Leeds won 0-1 and went on to win the league and Rangers were relegated.
