Booooo Bottomley, booooooooo! Booooo the Board, booooooooo!
IF Dale have pulled this signing off, and it looks very likely we have, the people in charge should be applauded. Money HAS been made available for the right signings.
We’re still short on numbers, no doubt. We need a left back and another striker at the very least, but this is a huge step in the right direction.

Paying money for a goalscoring forward is far less of a risk as there are always clubs looking for strikers and willing to pay for them. We had to borrow money to buy O'Grady but got double back when they sold him. Peterborough love signing good young forwards and have sold some of them for handsome amounts. A strategy to bear in mind when you consider the number of defenders and midfielders we seem to develop so well. If hope this transfer comes to fruition, I always thought we should have taken a chance on him when he was released by Fulham.

He wasn't released by Fulham. Southend bought him after he had been on loan there.
Just seen this tweet and it illuminates what a sorry mess Southend are in at present. I believe they’re also under a transfer embargo. Pretty much every prediction I’ve seen has them and Oldham dropping into non-league!
