As a DOF he has been a disaster yet when he spoke to Clive didn’t concede any errors at all . Sack him tonight , he has thrown enough people under the bus now .. [Post edited 7 Apr 2023 19:34]

Ferdinand Out on 14:40 - Apr 8 by DejR_vu | He knew exactly what he was doing when he said that he would only have come back for a club he loves like Cardiff or QPR. He backed himself to overtake us both, knowing he would keep Huddersfield up at the expense of one of the others, ‘look at what you could have won’. |
He could possibly do us a right favour last game when Huddersfield play Reading.

He’s done a decent job overall - compare where we are now to the state the club was in when he took the job - but the last 18 months have been a disaster and as DOF he has to be held accountable for that. As others have mentioned, the problems with the club ultimately stem from the fact that we have owners who have good intentions but absolutely no footballing acumen, and a DOF who’s essentially been learning on the job: this means there’s nobody at the top with the authority or expertise to properly impose themselves, demand the necessary standards from others, deal with problems or insist on sticking to a strategy and structure. For all the good stuff that’s happened over the last few years, we’ve allowed countless problems to pile up, which have all suddenly caught up with us at the same time and created the ridiculous carcrash we’re currently experiencing. Our failure to sell any players for profit when their form was good, meaning we’re now facing another FFP breach; continually letting different managers bring in their own players; shelling out for Warburton’s promotion push in particular, then those players being largely rubbish; the total lack of Championship-standard players coming through from the youth teams; the subsequent collapse in relations with Warburton; not doing our due diligence on Beale; allowing him to bring all his favourite boys in, then having them throw a tantrum because daddy left; our ridiculous run of injuries and unexplained absences over the course of this season; our persistently terrible form, regardless of changes in manager or formation; the terrible communication with fans and players about everything from injuries to contract renewals. Every single one of these is a problem that the presence of a DOF is supposed to guard against, and every one of them chips off a bit of Les’ credit for the good stuff he’s done. If we are a club that cares about standards, you can’t have the most senior footballing figure in the operation making these kinds of mistakes and staying in post, however brilliant a player he was for us 30 years ago.
