Watched the game on Wednesday morning and was really impressed! Found myself quite elated. Very well done ladies.
It is a long time since l followed each of the England matches shown on BBC in The World Cup in '66 on a black and white television with a twelve inch screen.
The television only had BBC and ITV back then and sometimes the picture would go up and down, the best remedy for this was to throw a slipper at the screen or 'bash' the top on the TV.
Back in those days televisions had something referred to as a 'tube' and if this went you had to call the television repair man to replace it.
This was a long time ago, it seems like a very different world.
One of the highlights back then was when the chimney sweep came round and we went outside to see his extended brush appear from the chimney.
Moving forward to today l was reminded how far things have developed in this brave new world while discussing recording techniques with a most impressive seventeen year old!
There won't be many conversations between a 70 year old and a 17 year old about the music genre of 'shoegazing' and a shared appreciation of bands like Slowdive, Ride, Lush and Wolf Alice etc.
