Sh*te. Need anyone who can shoot straight, or create a goal, before Thursday night. Expect the same every match if Ralph insists on playing Elyounoussi and Adams . Ward Prowse is pointless.

First full game I have seen this season. So we lost, but hardly deserved to. Performance gave me hope for this season, after the dreadful end to 2021/22 and the first game at Spurs. All the new signings looked good, much better defensively than hitherto. Bella- Kotchap is a find and Mara and Aribo look like potential difference makers. I thought A Armstrong was much more effective playing wide. Negatives were lack of midfield creativity and missing cutting edge in front of goal. Che worked hard but is at his best alongside an Ings style player. We March on …

Saints were unlucky. Che will be kicking himself for being so profligate with the great chances he had at the beginning of the game.
We were so unlucky not to equalise with the phenomenal overhead kick (whoever that was).
Bella-Kotchap is a beast of player. Hope we can keep him past this season

Good performance a bit lacking around the box and need to have a dig sometime rather than look for the perfect move. Surprised Adam Armstrong was hooked as we were very strong down the left to that point but not at all afterwards. I thought penalty a the time and until I've seen replays still do, VAR is not a friend to the smaller teams, which annoys the cr*p out of me. We still need to move the ball quicker through midfield but sometimes our movement isn't quite good enough to enable this and we have to go backwards. It would however (in my opinion) benefit us to be a bit less risk adverse at times and slide balls between defenders for players to move onto. I appreciate we risk losing the ball but it's risk vs gain?

Not sure how Aribo scores so highly, wasn't his best game?

Should have added that we ought to have had that penalty for the McTominay handball. …

Well that was a tough one to lose and took a world class strike off a volley pass to beat us. Not the end of the world and there were some goods signs. Seems RH has realized our 4-4-2 or a variation is our best. Djenepo had another good game as well as AA.

Was definitely at a different game to I_Would because I thought Saints were superb - all deserving of at least 8 out of 10, except Mo El who was probably a 7.5 out of 10.

The reality is the so called big 6 teams should be smashing us but today showed that there is still hope for teams like us yet as long as we put in the hard work & commit.

IMO Manure we’re lucky to get anything today, let alone win - we were by far the better team.

On the whole it was a decent team performance. But for wasting chances in front of goal and dodgy VAR decisions we would have taken something from the match. Adams wasn’t the only culprit in missing chances with ABK and KWP both having good opportunities which should have at least been on target. Ultimately that’s the difference between our players and those that cost many times more is that they are more clinical in front of goal.

Can someone explain to me how McTominay managed not only to get away with handling the ball TWICE and not concede a pen but also repeatedly haul down our players when they were about to break and only receive one yellow card. Baffling refereeing.

I left the ground full of hope. We have the makings of a good team. We need some height in attack and a versatile defender but, none of our starting eleven put in a poor performance. In fact, several were very good. Bazanu, Bella-Kotchap, Djenepo (!) and KWP are all worthy of mention. This was a tough game for both sides won by one brilliant move and a failure by VAR to review what appeared to be a deliberate hand movement to control the ball. This will be a hard season but, I saw my team fight for everything and that's enough for me.

Gutted. We deserved something from the game. Good team performance and another monster performance from ABK. Good to see us competing again. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

I thought this was a really promising performance which we only lost due to one piece of quality from a generally uninspired MU. Ten Haag was not happy, hopping about all over the place and generally whining. Bella Kotchap was immense and amazingly mature for someone who has played so little. Lavia could be something special, he has so much time and unbelievable technique. hats off to Djenepo who after a nightmare at Spurs has really knuckled down. 4-4-2 definitely the way forward and keep mixing it up i.e. some long balls and sometimes play out from keeper. One slight worry is that the excellent KWP does tend to let people in behind him on crosses. Obviously we need another striker, dont think Lyanco is the solution, and a creative midfielder

Saints all over Utd. Cheated out of the game with Ref and VAR ignoring a blatant penalty. Have to remember small clubs always play against 13 now when they're playing the money monsters.

I can't really add much to the other comments on here.

Competitive for most of the game just lacked a cutting edge up front.

Fantastic bodies on the line blocking by all the defence in one spell just before half time, to deny 3 shots on target. You just know no one would have really bothered last year and just shrugged off the inevitable goal. Great to see.

ABK, Lavia, Arma and Djenepo were great yesterday.

Made enough chances to get back in the game but we lack someone with a clinical finish.

Should have had a penalty for McTominey's repeated hand balls - once the first contact with his hand had happened he should have pulled away to prevent the others. Didn't so -penalty.

Play like that against other sides and we would have won.

Trying to give 'an even handed view' here ... but Saints probably just about deserved a POINT from the game. But we're undone by their lack of shape in the final third

Deserved something from the game. The new young guys show promise and should gel more with each game. Tough start with Chelsea to come. Still need proven goalscorer.Keep the faith.
