A win is a win. Made fairly hard work of it tho.

Aribo looked good. What a turn around. Shame he's about to disappear for a few weeks.

Subs were good, Fraser particularly. Silly Red card for Charles tho.

Looks like Manning could be back in the side for a bit which is an early Xmas present for some fans. Not sure he did too much wrong today tho.

Other than that end to end game without much actual goal threat from either side.

Stonking miss from Che shows we really need a striker if Stewart is out all season.

Catching Ipswich up by 3 points and 5 goals is pretty pretty good.

COYR - Merry Xmas to all at TUI

Hard fought win. What a great run this is.

We seemed better when Manning came on.

Poor old Che Adams, even if he does go in January we will be lucky to get a fee for him. His confidence in front of goal seems non existent.

Illas Chair looked the best player on the pitch by a country mile.

Not scoring enough could come back to bite us,stats again show we had most of the play but they had just as many with a lot les of the ball.Hopefully we get that sorted soon or the odds are we’re not going to get the results we need COYR

A 6 for Manning, what's the matter with some of you? Everyone knows he must get the lowest mark, doesn't matter how he plays and whether or not you saw the game? This is simply the rule, so think about this before the next game, i already know he deserves a 4 at best.

We are definitely difficult to watch at time, control of the game does not necessarily turn into progressive performance.
3 points is what we needed but goals are seemingly not our priority even when we are so much on top. It seems we employ a more defensive stance away from home, regardless of our dominance which confuses me somewhat.
Aribo continues to be effective despite his ungainly style of play, Che looks like he needs to be somewhere else, Smallbone was below par today but Bazunu is finding some confidence. Just wish we would risk a few passes around the opposition box or shoot, rather than play keep ball and go backwards. Crowd was pretty good today despite not having alot to cheer about!

Am I on the wrong site? Thought this was In the Loft? Anyway.

Rs played well and could possibly have got an equaliser. But although the gap wasn't massive Southampton were a class above us. Although their Russball passing game can seem slow and unexciting they made twice as many progressive passes as we did (44 to 22) and 29 progressive carries to Rs 17. Interestingly Field made the most progressive passes for us, 6, as well as the most tackles (unsurprising) and he didn't pick up his usual yellow.

Stats don't tell everything but in truth we hardly threatened their keeper. Dykes didn't have one shot.

Larkeche must be getting nearer a start with the experiment of Paal in midfield looking worth a try. Larkeche in less than 30 minutes on the field made 3 progressive passes, 2 progressive carries and 2 successful take ons. What's better is he looks keen to attack the opposition. Not sure his defensive work is as good. Cannon still looks good but his early gloss is fading a little as he learns to cope with the demands of the Championship.

Aribo was outstanding for Saints. Chair, as usual, probably our best player, but perhaps it's time to bench him again which last time cut down his tendency to overelaborate or always cut back onto his right foot.

PS must stop reading all these stats.
