Unless of course they are owned or co owned by Hollywood or American sports stars. I was not surprised that QPR didn't get talked about as they have slumped from Premiership to perennial Championship strugglers since 2015 with no realistic chance of going up this season and probably a few more seasons yet. |

Well put. Knockers should lay off Kone, whilst he is still learning at this level. He is not the finished article yet. With good management and coaching he should improve and become a regular 15+ goals per season striker at this level, if not higher. He has 6 goals so far and only just past halfway into his 1st season in the Championship. Edit: I forgot to add that he was up against experienced defenders and in some cases , international ones. Dykes scored 12 in his 1st season and got steadily worse. Jamie Vardy struggled until his late 20s when he joined Leicester and then took a few seasons before a more prolific spell in the Premiership. Carlton Morris struggled to get goals until he joined Barnsley in his mid 20s and even then wasn't prolific, but he did improve whilst at Luton and now Derby. I think Kone should be given time to improve before he gets criticised by fans. [Post edited 12 Jan 14:58]

I was expecting the worst after that first corner, but have to say was impressed with him today. Shame the game didn't get to penalty shoot out. |

If not Kolli who else is there? Can we really expect Kone to play the whole game given he is the only other striker QPR have. If there were any other strikers at the club, even in the Development Squad, then they could be used. The forwards at QPR are Burrell, Kone, Kolli and Frey ( who is on his way out). Of course, QPR could play with a false striker and have no real hope of scoring. |

I was thinking that, as it happened with Johansen and Austin (although playing in a different system i.e. 4.3.1.2 alongside Dykes afterwards 4-3-2-1 with Willock & Chair behind him). Hopefully he will continue with his form of last season and will play well alongside Dunne. Now for another striker, left back and maybe Castledine. |
 | Forum Reply | Burrel out until March at 14:25 8 Jan 2026
Oh they have timed it perfectly so that they can select a team half of them from the senior squad with the rest from the development squad. My guess is; Walsh/Nardi Adamson, Smith, Akindineli, Esquerdinha Morgan, Hayden, Field Dembele, Bennie, Vale. Subs from Walsh, Nardi, Salamon, Putman, McCann, Tuck, Aoraha, Kolli, Saito Smyth, |
 | Forum Reply | Burrel out until March at 12:34 8 Jan 2026
Not looking good at all. Burrell will need a replacement to be signed either on loan or permanent deal. Kolli has supposedly missed much of this season due to injuries, in which case can he be expected to cover until March? Can we expect Kone to last if he is going to be expected to lead the attack for 90 minutes each game? The club want to move Frey on and have refused to take Celar back from his loan, so there is a real need to bring in at least one more striker before the window closes or we could see the likes of Smyth and Dembele to lead the line in future games as they did do successfully last season!!! As for Poku, another hamstring injury. How did he pass the medical, this is his second one already after only 3 starts, to add to the one he suffered last season at Peterborough. We also won't be seeing much of Chair or JCS, over the next few months as they will only return to training later in January which could be translated to not playing until February. Promotion for Development squad players maybe or maybe a deal for Edwards and another creative midfielder? [Post edited 8 Jan 13:27]

This entirely. I was hopeful when the draw was made, but in view of the latest injuries I would be very surprised if there are not wholesale changes on Sunday. I am expecting changes and as usual, another 3rd round exit. |

Agree with most of this, but if Lloyd can't get a game at Leyton Orient I don't think he will be any use to QPR this season |
 | Forum Reply | I'd like to wish Liam Rosenior well... at 13:29 6 Jan 2026
A lot of those points are from the Championship, Frank Lampard also has plenty from this league,. I do think Rosenior is a good managerial prospect, but a 6 year deal is ridiculous. Chelsea have a habit of sacking managers after 2 seasons even if they win trophies, but sooner if they don't. Rosenior won't mind though as he will get a nice pay off when eventually sacked. |

I agree we should put out a strong team because it is a winnable game against a side that is not doing well and might even put out a weakened team to 'concentrate' on the League. |

On the contrary, I think Morgan is going to learn a lot about the different positions as a teenager and by the time he is in his early 20s should be a good player. |

I was there and it was not an enjoyable watch, but have to be happy with a 3-0 win to get back on track and improve the goal difference. Also pleased that Kolli scored to very good goals, but up until he did, he wasn't having the best of games as a striker (although did his defensive duties at corners well. Obviously the injury to Burrell is a big concern, hopefully it isn't going to keep him out for long. I think with his injury and Frey on the way out QPR will probably need another striker, even if on loan. |

I am still undecided on whether I can be asked to deal with a rail replacement service to get to a midday kick off to watch another dismal home performance against Sheffield Wednesday and Barry Bannan.. Maybe the way to handle playing against Bannan will be to man mark him out of the game. The less touches he gets on the ball the better chance QPR have to win this game. |

I appreciate it is about opinions ,but Walsh better than Nardi, based on what? From what I saw of him before his injury, he was nowhere near Championship level. |
 | Forum Reply | January transfer rumours at 00:36 3 Jan 2026
I read about him on the BBC sports article on EFL players who could be on the move. He seems to be a goal scoring midfielder and I instantly thought QPR need one of those given the lack of goals from midfield. I don't know about his other midfield qualities but if he can make tackles and forward passes he can replace Varane in midfield or play as a number 10 behind Kone or Burrell. I know Chair can play the role, but we don't know whether he is fit or not (the club doesn't like to keep fans informed, presumably because it provides an advantage to the opposition). |

OK I stand to be corrected. It must have been a very soft target as he only achieved 1 goal and 2 assists before it was activated. |
