 | Forum Reply | This season......your thoughts. at 10:44 25 Mar 2025
Since January we haven't really been in any sort of relegation trouble and if we pick up the the likely 3 wins from the last 8 we will end up roughly where we all thought (12th - 16th). What's been a shame is that 2 of the three players we spent good money on have been desperately underwhelming and I suppose that leads in to Clive's point that next season is a worry because with Colback, Dunne, Cook, Andersen, Paal likely leaving you are ripping out a hell of a lot of experience and will be back relying on Celar and Madsen to step up, which they haven't looked like doing. Morgan will likely not be as brilliant as he was and Lloyd, whilst game, doesn't look up to scratch. We are going to have to re build the defence using Nourry's analytics which haven't exactly proved a resounding success so far |

Certainly they've been superb, but let's not underestimate the good fortune of Tony Mowbray being mates with Dozzell's dad and therefore we were able to shift £15k off the wage budget which gave us a bit of wiggle room in January to sign Hayden, Frey and Andersen |
 | Forum Thread | Reading FC ownership Saga at 17:20 21 Mar 2025
Another twist https://www.efl.com/news/2025/march/21/efl-statement--reading-fc-and-mr-dai-yong Following its disclosure in open court earlier today, the League can confirm that Mr Yongge has been recently disqualified under the EFL’s Owners’ and Directors’ Test. The disqualification requires Mr Yongge to divest his interests in the Club, and in the event that he fails to do so within the agreed timeframe, the League will consider all options available within its regulations to bring the matter to a conclusion. The League continues to work closely with Reading FC to progress a sale of the Club at the earliest opportunity, in order to end the current uncertainty surrounding its future for its staff, supporters and wider community. |
 | Forum Reply | So player of the season? at 16:04 21 Mar 2025
Probably Dunne, Field and Smyth as they've played the most! YPOTY Morgan, although he's been off it recently |
 | Forum Reply | Out of Contract at 15:10 18 Mar 2025
I would imagine that contracts will be offered to Cook, Dunne, Frey and maybe Fox. I'd be surprised if we retain any of the others. I suppose you have two left backs here already for next season in the shape of Vale and Larkeche. Morrison and JCS your starting CB's I guess. The midfield is slightly worrying as Field, Varane, Morgan, Madsen is asking a lot of a 19 year old and asking Madsen to rapidly adapt |
 | Forum Reply | The three games after Leeds at 18:09 12 Mar 2025
It's a lower mid table squad which is going to achieve that finish. If you are lower mid table then you have horrendous runs of form like we are in now. I'd say the season has been an improvement on last, the games we lose are by the odd goal and there is the basis of a really nice team coming together (Nardi, JCS, Morrison, Varane, Field, Chair). There's some tinkering around the edges to do and striker is a problem position. However if we finish 16th having been comfortably mid table since Jan then that's fine. Aim for next season needs to be finishing 12th having not ever been troubled by what's going on below us and occasionally batting lashes at the play offs |

It's quite incredible. Doughty was an outside shout for the England squad last season! Just let him whip balls in for their myriad of strikers great and tall |
 | Forum Reply | Places for a new ground at 11:09 26 Feb 2025
I think give up on the new ground pipe dream. Would rather they worked out something at Loftus Road. Still convinced the way forward is a smaller ground with larger corporate areas. Turn 3/4 of the Upper Bhatia stand into a corporate area (reduce the capacity) Make the whole Lower Loft Safe Standing. Make Lower School Safe Standing |

Plymouth have given themselves a hell of a chance. I think Derby and Luton look rotten, Cardiff seem to just about be able to do enough whilst Hull are 50/50. Think we could see Stoke (finally) drop |
 | Forum Reply | Evertons new staduim at 15:08 18 Feb 2025
Just looks like a big bowl with some shiny corporate areas to me. I suppose when you are a club of that size you can't build a new stadium like Brentford or Rotherham which keeps some character. Liverpool have managed to get the best of both worlds with their Anfield redevelopment. Seats 61k now with tons of corporate facilities but is still very much Anfield. Please god by us when it comes to savvy stadium redevlopment! |
 | Forum Reply | Paul Smyth's long throw... at 11:10 11 Feb 2025
As a long throw it doesn't really work. What it does do though is give us an attacking 'set piece'. So the opposition have to come back, fill their box and defend it. It's useful for getting us up the pitch and causing some issues |

An apology statement has been out out by Ruben I wouldn't say it's the end of the matter really. But perhaps this a logical place to lock this thread |
 | Forum Reply | Sinclair Armstrong at 09:22 10 Feb 2025
Think the Sincs deal was good for everyone really. We got somer cash and they got a player with bags of potential but with a lot of work to do. I don't think he is a central striker (yet). For me he is a wide forward using his frightening physicality to cause mayhem and leaving the finishing to the deadlier players. WOuldn't write him off just yet. Look at how Smyth has improved this season to last |

It was pathetic. I had a few mates who went up there. It's a cup semi final so how can you not! And they got served with that. Most damning statistic is that they picked up 0 yellow cards. It's a fcking semi final, the midfield should've been like absolute animals out there. They just sort of arrived resigned to a defeat. Was like watching peak QPR |
 | Forum Reply | Min-Hyeok Yang at 09:26 7 Feb 2025
I just don't get it. Park I could understand. Bloke is a Korean legend, had won the lot at Man U, captained the national side, played in a World Cup semi final etc etc. But Min-Hyeok is just a kid breaking through. Why care so much? It would be like me going to watch a Deportiva La Coruna game and getting a Charlie Patino shirt whilst filming his every move. We had a Korean bloke next to us during the match who the season ticket holder obviously sold his seat to online. Bloke sat by himself and couldn't have enjoyed the evening less. All v odd, but I suppose that's the beauty of different cultures! |

They barely even bother to cover all the Premier League on GFW/Ramble/TFS any more. Just leave games out. If you're a Brighton or Palace fan you never get a mention unless you've played a big boy. At least there are some podcasts out there now which discuss the EFL in depth with NTTT obviously fantastic. Usually only bother with Football Cliches which at least gave us a full 20 minutes after Jake Livermore scored against us and didn't celebrate and they couldn't believe he had never played for us |

JCS going to have basically been out the whole season! Great to have Cook and Morrison back for the weekend. 4 good CB's now in place to choose from. Would love to see Dembele playing in a confident team |
 | Forum Reply | Chair at 09:34 23 Jan 2025
He's still our top 'assister' with 4 this season, despite missing half the season as well. Also notable that the upturn in performances (so everything post PNE) has come with him back in the side. The guy is brilliant, just had a bad game v Hull |
 | Forum Reply | If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs at 09:36 20 Jan 2025
Love the hypothetical!! I'd love to go up, but wouldn't want the consequences of it! The idea that you bank the money etc etc is fine until you look at Luton who are involved in another relegation battle this season! On Luton, everyone talks about their plucky campaign last season... they got 26 points. That's 1 more than when we got relegated in the Hughes/Redknapp season and 4 less than when we went down under Ramsey!! For the promoted clubs it essentially comes down to your transfer business which itself involves a bit of luck. Ipswich seem to have a gem in Liasm Delap, signed for a chunky fee from a Top 6 Academy. Whilst Cameron Archer is the same profile and is stinking the place out for Southampton! |
