Yeah I think we win both. The tactics seem to work at home. Burrell back in the goals.
Both will be frustrating but once we get that goal they wont come back. Shef Weds especially will be a tight game but a later goal in the 2nd half will eventually break their resistance.
Then we play the same "home" style team in the cup and get comfortably beaten by West ham. JS hasn't quite figured out how to change it away from LR. |

Does anyone know if there is a reason we are always away on Boxing day? Especially recently. We've been at home twice on boxing day (and once on 27th) in the last 10 years. 1 of those was behind closed doors during covid. Surely it should be on a rotation of some kind. This year there's only 1 prem game too (Ooop North) so not like there's a policing issue around loads of football.
Is it a council thing? A club choice? Or just luck of the draw? |

He was fantastic last night and has been much, much better this season.
Getting stuck in to tackle he was previously bottling, has a range of passes, the best set piece taker in the team too.
Controlled the midfield last night, getting better every game. |

Rangers flag and shirt spotted in the front row.
Last 4 wickets were a disgrace, especially in the situation. Credit Starc for the top order bowling, brilliant. England bowling well but haven't gotten their rewards, yet. |

What I don't get is continually pumping crosses - be it from open play, corners or freekicks into the box to be headed away, again and again. Happened against Oxford and Millwall too. Try. Something. Different. |

My god they were awful. Kept second guessing every comment they made. ooh maybe it was, ooh maybe it wasn't. The red card was a red, yes Cook makes a meal of it but you can't do that plus the bloke dived to try and win a penalty - they were seriously asking if it should be a pen! Should have overlaid the pictures with Sints and Tyler. Great to have Andy back! |

Kone and Frey shouldn't play together, one or the other.
Field and Hayden shouldn't play together, one or the other.
Dembele seems to have lost some pace.
We were too slow last night, kept putting balls into the box to be headed away rather than try something different.
Generally a poor game of championship dirge. They came for a draw, got it and were delighted.
Really dull evening and hope there's not too many more like that.
Take the point, move on and never speak of it again. |

I absolutely love it and my son, who's 5 absolutely loves it so long may it continue.
Remember it's a young team and the one usually leading it is a nutter but still only 23.

Expected the Saints to be crap, they aren't great but actually surprised that both games have only been 1 possession defeats. 2 road games to come and one is at the Bills.....50 burger incoming.

So you don't have to sacrifice anything in a 4-2-3-1. It just means 1 of the middle 2 will sit and protect the defence while the other goes and supports attacks, as well as running back. They have to be extremely fit to get up and down the pitch with lots of high intensity running in both halves of the pitch AND can pass a ball.
The more of the defensive player in the midfield 2 will also cover a fullbacks position when they get up the wing to support attacks. If you want to call it a position. The 2 are split into 1 CDM and 1 CM.
Someone like Dominik Szoboszlai at Liverpool is a good example (although he is covered RB at the moment...)
Of our central Midfielders Sam Field and Jon Varane are both the "deep lying" types. Hence why people say they can't play together. Hayden is also more of the holding model but can defo pass better than the other 2, so could work well.
If Madsen could get more physical and tackle more (did better on Saturday) he would be a great fit. Morgan needs to bulk a little and continue developing his passing but has the right profile to fit the position.
