I do miss those throw-ins by Salisu, when he picked the ball up, wiped it clean for ages, took a massive run up and launched it 10 yards ! |

Agree with McCarty comment. He was awful. Flapped at 2 and got away with it, was woefully out of position for Salah's goal, and was instrumental in their opening goal with a suicide pass to Fernandez. He almost got caught out at his near post (not for the 1st time in his career), when Salah hit the post. He basically cost us the game today. |

Whilst Downes was at fault for giving ball away, he should never have been put in that position. The Liverpool goal emanated from a crazy pass by McCarthy to Fernandes (which he repeated 10 mins later, but got away with it). Fraser and Stephens are all over the place. Penalty was a very close call, whether in or out. We got the nod but then Armstrong almost messed it up with a poor spot kick, scoring from re-bound. The players are trying, but with so many playing out of position it is difficult. I sometimes think that Martin deliberately tries to be controversial. |

Really strange, if Fraser is at left back, when we have people who can play in this position. Not sure why he has has dropped Archer, I would have started him, Not expecting anything from this game, so if it gets him the sack earlier, I am in favour of these selections. |
| Forum Reply | One good reason why they won't get rid of Russell Martin at 07:24 11 Nov 2024
I still believe there is an outside chance. I also believe we have players that are good enough with a couple of good signings, or at least ones that will play. Many of those we have signed in last 12 months are not even playing regularly. Much has been said about us not being able to afford to sack Martin. I would be happy to forgo some of the January transfer fund to pay Martin off and get rid of him now. We would stand a better chance of survival with a new coach that can get the best out of this team. So we forget signing some 17 year old for 3-5 million or get rid of Martin ? Lalana's name has been touted. I wouldn't have supported a move for him as manager before the season started, but where we are now, we don't have much to lose. [Post edited 11 Nov 7:25]

No not acceptable, but he did not have a "sexual relationship with that woman" ! |
| Forum Reply | US Election at 06:38 10 Nov 2024
I think you forgot that he was also convicted of; 34 counts of fraud, sexual assault, went with 2 porn stars whilst married, discriminated against black people in 70/80's who wanted to rent his buildings, and then there was the sham Trump University where he had to pay out %25m. Finally, we will probably never know what he got up to with his friend Jeffrey Epstein. This isn't all down to him being hounded by the media ? I appreciate America has voted and that is democracy, but still amazed that they believe he is fit and proper to run the US. Even his own VP compared him to Hitler. |

I saw it a few times, it did look like Fernandes "may" have gone into the back of their player, but I say may as it wasn't really clear and certainly wasn't a clear and obvious error for VAR to intervene. |

But not a single shot on target. Even the ones off target weren't even close. Shambles of a performance. How do we expect any of the forwards to score if Martin insists on the team pissing around with it on the flanks. Archer and the tall Paul had no service at all. Still not sure what position Stephens was playing ? He played crap, but his name is probably already on the team sheet for next week. |

Other than Manning's disallowed effort, we have hardly threatened. Loads of possession but as per usual, no end product. Archer must be well hacked off, he has had zero service and is just chasing scraps. Zero shots on target in first half says it all. I am not sure where Stephens is actually playing ? What I do know, is every time he gets the ball he slows the play down, giving Wolves time to re-group. |

US will not leave NATO. He was just was just pressuring Europe top pay more of their share, and he probably had a point with the likes of Germany. With North Korea developing weapons that can reach US mainland, with Russia and China help, it wouldn't make sense for US to leave now. |

330m people in US and these were the best 2 people they could come up with ! Staggering that majority of US believe that Trump is fit and proper to run the US, He is unstable at best and a crook. The only positive, is the markets will receive the news of a Trump win positively, Shares will rise. It will be an interesting term. 60% of US debt matures in 5 years. Just seen Farage out there, guessing there will be no MP Surgery today for people in Clacton ? Melania will be happy as her Lawyers prepare a new Pre-nup. [Post edited 6 Nov 7:26]

I don't like the guy, but I think you need to do a bit more research on how much RyanAir adds to our economy and employment, especially in Stanstead. Not forgetting that people can travel for peanuts to Cities, that would otherwise be off limits. I am no fan of Ryanair, but I do acknowledge that they offer the ability to travel through out Europe on the cheap. If you abide by their ToC's it s fine, but don't expect to turn up with a massive case as hand luggage and moan like crap because they charge you for it. if the Government thinks he is bluffing, look at what he did recently in Germany, where it cut loads of flights. Businesses will be hot hard by changes, which will affect most people. Inflation will increase, which will ultimately keep interest rates higher for longer. In next 12 months I reckon there will be a slowing of interest rate cuts, that will be experienced in Europe and US. I was surprised, Pensions were not touched. A flat rate of 25 or 30% tax relief would have been fairer for all, and encourage younger people to save for future retirement. The increase in minimum wage, (on top of 2 recent increases) and NI, I believe will have a negative affect on businesses, especially those who were considering creating new apprentice positions. Many (especially) small businesses will think twice about taking on new unskilled hires, which will impact growth. I heard a lot of talk about a crackdown on Benefit and Welfare fraud, I hope they follow through on this. With more companies offering flexibility to work from home, this creates a lot more opportunities. Too many people have got comfortable on benefits and see it as a right rather than the safety net it was designed for. It also makes it too attractive for people to come to UK as it is very generous. |

This is nailed on. With Martin criticising HB after Leicester game (I think it was him he blamed ?), he will slot his favourite in. |

Just seen Martins comment, post match where he said, "Someone had a job to do...they didn't" I am on hols and didn't;t get to the game. I did see the 2nd half on a stream, but can't think who he was referring to ? Any idea ? Not a good sign to start slagging players off in public. Only one winner when that happens.
