The 3 sides of a match thread at Oxford
at 10:58 21 Jan 2026

I’ve tried to reflect 'positively' after last night. After nervously looking over our shoulder for last 3 winters, all we wanted this year is progress. Its slow progress, but I think we are slowly moving in the right direction.

If someone had said to me at the start of the year – in Mid Jan, we will be midtable & 3 points off the playoffs – I would have snapped their hand off. Any team in the country would struggle with 8 first team players out following the ridiculous Christmas schedule (and then the EFL cramming in a 3-game week!).

Stoke away was a good point despite a terrible game. Frustrating thing for me is Sheff Wednesday aside, Oxford are the worst team in the league – and we haven’t scored against them this year, let alone beat them! If we are talking about progress, how we approach playing struggling teams needs to be addressed if we are to kick on.

If we can hang around and keep a gap of 4-8 points to the play-offs, get some players back – we might be able to have a go, get on a run late Feb/March and take advantage of this very mediocre playoff pack.

That's my two pence, some might not agree - which is fine. We all see the world differently....

Loveliest Town in England Match Thread

It was one of those god awful midweek championship away trips. Glad we got over the line. Great save from Nardi to keep it 0-0!

Managers get a lot of stick when they make the wrong subs, but credit to Stephan for introducing Smyth. Turning out to be quite a good week.

Only slight negative for me is that our Ball retention is so poor for a professional football team. We have to get better at keeping it if we want to progress as a team. (Small steps though ehy?)

On another note, has anyone noticed we always seem to get shafted in these 3 game weeks?

When we played Swansea & then Derby on the Saturday - Derby played at home on the Tuesday night before. We played Southampton on Wednesday night before a trip to Sheff Utd after them playing at home on Tuesday night. We are now heading to Norwich, they played Tuesday at home whilst we have a joyful trip to Blackburn 24 hours later!

Its a joke.

Norwich have gone for Philippe Clement, Not the failed Rangers manager I was expecting to be appointed....

(Just in time for when we are due to play them. Because, of course...)

Tickets..?
at 10:33 24 Sep 2025

Hi All,

In need of some help if possible. Came of twitter/X (Whatever the kids call it these days) towards the end of last year (for obvious reasons) & always found that the club tweeted when tickets went on general sale etc..

(Weekends are difficult for me, so not a member and tend to buy when they go on general sale)

Anyway, since binning twitter/X off - seems I'm struggling to see/find out when tickets go on sale. Anyone got any suggestions?

TIA - You R's!
