Horrifying that one of the countries biggest police forces in charge of the second city and a huge population are relying on AI for ‘intelligence’. Apparently it told them that Maccabi fans had smashed up London whilst playing West Ham but that match never took place, they were playing in Ukraine at the time. That was part of the basis to banning the Israeli fans. That and rampant anti semitism. |

Some of these SUV’s can hit 60mph in 3 seconds. They are four wheel drive and incredibly large, heavy and powerful machines. The fact she turned her wheels away is irrelevant. To accelerate like that is remarkably reckless and dangerous. You must understand this right? You accelerate like that on your driving test even with nobody around and you immediately fail. Why do you think this is? |

It’s the equivalent of banning Polaroid cameras instead of arresting the cameraman taking the indecent photos.
I hate Twitter with a passion. It’s a cesspit on there. But you should deal with the tiny percentage of individuals breaking the law rather than tear the whole thing up.
Starmers ongoing feud with Musk and his desire to silence criticism of his relentless failure to govern competently is behind this 100%. |

It is damning on the officer. Shooting someone in the head is very rarely acceptable. It’s a lack of composure or training or more likely just a human being in a state of panic. But there is also the mitigating factor of a large powerful vehicle being driven aggressively in his direction narrowly missing him. I’m not sure about US law but over here regardless of intent and the fact she missed him that would certainly seen as dangerous driving to endanger life, possibly even attempted murder. That’s why this isn’t as simple as “he’s evil, she’s completely innocent”. You’re entrenched in the politics and you have a track record of trying to score cheap political points, so I don’t think you’re capable of being objective about this.
The time between her slamming her foot on the gas and the bullet being fired is probably under a second. In a situation like that people don’t stop to weigh up their options. They react with instinct.
He shouldn’t have pulled the trigger and will probably face charges but I completely understand why he did what he did in the heat of the moment. Again with the US it all comes down to guns. |

Very frustrating to lose like that but a lot of positives for me. We aren’t a million miles away from being a very good side. Just lack that killer instinct. So many chances fluffed again but earlier in the season we wouldn’t have had those chances in the first place so we are definitely moving in the right direction. |

Whether she intended to hit him or not is irrelevant. It’s still a large powerful vehicle being accelerated harshly in his direction. If she had hit him he would be dead or have life changing injuries at the very least. Obviously standing in front of the vehicle in the first place is foolish.
In reality she’s probably panicked at having men surround her brandishing firearms, slammed on the gas to get away, he’s also panicked at having a vehicle driven at him with force and been too trigger happy. It’s all happened in under a second essentially.
Can understand the reaction of both parties, it comes down to human frailty really, fight or flight in action. Shame people are using it to score political points but that’s the world we live in. |

We’ve moved on from cartoons and puppets now. AI will see the next level of cutting satire. Saw a great one of the US army abseiling their way into Downing Street to take Starmer away Maduro style, only to find him in bed with the three Ukrainian lads who firebombed his house.
Again they want to ban it because they can’t control it and don’t like being ridiculed. |

I’m not one to defend this degenerate but can he be held to blame for this one? He had a house and sold it. Has anybody on here done a full check on the buyer of their house to make sure that the buyer isn’t involved in criminal practices? He was probably not involved in the sale in any way. |

In an early episode of the office, an email is going around with David Brent’s face superimposed onto a woman’s naked body with two men performing an act on him. That show released 25 years ago this year, they were probably using a dial up connection and had computers the size of houses that could barely run Minesweeper.
The use of technology to undress people not a new problem created explicitly by AI. Perverts are always gonna pervert. The creation of these images to deliberately humiliate or degrade people should have always been illegal, to my knowledge it is. To ban an entire platform because a few sick individuals use it for nefarious reasons is not addressing the root cause. They’ll move onto other platforms. As the OP says this is all about censorship because people online are not particularly complimentary about the government in recent times and they don’t have any control over it. |

Putin is as Soviet as you and I are. His hero is Peter the Great and he envisions himself as a Tsar of old rather than a general secretary or a chairman. The way he positions himself in his grand palace at the end of a long table or with his “advisers” all at a distance in a semi circle facing towards him, or the way he poses on a horse or out swimming and hunting. He wants to be seen almost as royalty, he projects the image that he and he alone is in charge. Ukraine is his Great North War and he wants to claim the land east of the river in the country that is now Ukraine just like Peter did. That war signified the first real steps towards a Russian empire with the defeat of the swedes. It is deeply personal for him.
To suggest this war is about NATO expansionism or Nazis or any other bollocks that CJ comes up with is risible. |

It was never about football hooliganism. We knew it, they knew it, everybody knew it. Clubs with an awfully worse record of hooliganism are allowed to come to or play in Britain every week and the police generally do a good job to ensure the games go ahead without incident. 100,000 Rangers fans smashed up Manchester a few years ago but their fans are still allowed to travel every week by British police.

You’re talking about “the expansion of NATO” as if countries want to have to commit a serious chunk of their GDP towards military spending. They don’t. Being a member of NATO is expensive. The single most fundamental reason for countries specifically close to and on the border with Russia to apply to join NATO is that they fear the sort of Russian aggression we have seen in the last few decades. With Putin marching into Ukraine, Georgia, Cheznya, Crimea and numerous other places with impunity you can’t really blame them. |
