I think the general consensus that the club has improved a lot this season both on and off the pitch. Injuries continue to hold us back, but that has been debated to death elsewhere so no need to do it again here. One area that does need improvement though is injury seriousness and injury recovery time feedback. Personally, I haven’t seen anything on Mbengue since Wednesday on how serious the injury is, unless I missed it somewhere. Lamptey’s injury at West Ham happened over a week ago and again nothing. I was surprised (in a good way) that Kemper started at West Ham, because I was unaware he was fit to play. Occasionally we will get a block of information , like when Clive interviewed JS and we got to hear how several players were progressing, but there are still several unanswered questions around Saito, Burrell and the ones above. This is one area the club could do a lot better in and would help cut out the speculation |

Two shocking teams, certainly nothing to fear there. I had so many laugh out loud moments at each team’s incompetence, that my wife came to check on me - lots of strange noises come out of my mouth when watching QPR or Ireland, but laughter is rarely one of them.
Just on Kyle Walker, obviously a soft spot for him after how he performed here, and I know hard to feel sorry for him as he seems a bit of a git, but my word, he is a shadow (a large shadow) of his former self. The yellow he picked up at the end epitomised his performance. Why on earth did he not quit before he got to this state? |

Cheers as always Clive. I think that is an important reminder, this is the most fun we have had for years. Following QPR usually leaves us miserable/anxious so it is important to remember it is supposed to be an escape from our daily grind, not an extension of it.
Tomorrow will be a tough test, but we can’t really use the mid-week exertions as an excuse (a) because we were at home and (b) because we weren’t particularly exerted. Also, while not fully au fiat with the English infrastructural system, I would have thought Birmingham would be one of the more easily accessible places to get to.
As long as we remain competitive I will be happy enough. I harked on enough last season about how you would know in the first five minutes how we would play and that often our attitude was really poor. I feel somewhat vindicated by this when we hear JS saying he is constantly demanding higher standards from his players, which they all seem to have bought into - the ‘first five minutes blues’ seem to have been banished - long may it last
Our two games v Birmingham last season were at opposite ends of the spectrum. The home game, thrilling, full of purpose and THAT Morgan goal. The away game alongside the game at WBA utterly abject. We may well lose tomorrow - I feel it will be a low-scoring draw, maybe even 0-0 - but as long as we compete (and don’t pick up any more injuries) I will be satisfied |

Stunned by all those who are having a go, no not even having a go, writing off Kone. This man led our line superbly last season, got into double figures in his first season at this level. Scored against West Ham, then a Premier League team. Led the attack on his own second half of the season , often with leg heavily strapped. He has been out of form and injured for sure, but the amount of vitriolic comments on here are both baffling and completely unnecessary . At least reserve judgement until he is fully fit and has a dozen games under his belt. |

I really loved his goal (even though Derby’s defence was glacial in their attempts to close him down). We have seen him lack composure in front of goal on many occasions, this time he absolutely took his time and got his just rewards
And I know Kemper has his own thread and deservedly so, but that flick to set up Alfie shows there is a lot more going on than just ‘wingers hate playing against me’ - super signing |

This is a really good point. First half of the season Nardi looked what he was - a very competent shot-stopper, but not too hot on crosses. By the time the reverse fixtures came around every team was raining crosses on him and he looked very average indeed.
Charles of course is a far better keeper than Nardi, but it will be interesting to see what different strategies he will face and how he will cope in the 2nd half of the season |

Having just read the oppo profile , Derby’s strength appears to be in attack , while our defence is very miserly. They seem to be in dire straits at the back with Sanderson the main man! If we can get Poku motoring down the right and Smythy down the left this could be the game that either Kone,Kolli,or Lloyd open their account - ideally all three! 3-1 to the hoops |

Yeah it’s definitely becoming an issue. Major hype over the dramatic comeback over Preston, but in the cold light of day , two points dropped. Ditto Bolton . Give us those four points and it’s a different perspective on our home form entirely. Yes, you can argue that West Ham is a point clawed back that we didn’t expect and possibly WBA too. But most successful teams have a strong home record so we need to improve that quite urgently - beginning with Derby hopefully |

When you say ‘until the owners address the issue what have you in mind? Something as simplistic as sacking cycling Ben or something more profound? My own view is that our in juries are as a result of two things (1) Over training/playing with little recovery time (2) Risky recruitment. We know that Lamptey is a terrific player when fit, we also know he hasn’t been fit for over two years. I would rather have 3 Adamson’s in my squad than one Lamptey . Dunne never (very rarely) misses games. Edwards never misses games Are they training differently than others - resilience is key |

I think Smyth was genuinely injured. There was a close up of him on Sky as he reached the dug-out and he was grimacing and limping. Shame as he was having the game of his life. What killed us as much as anything in the last 20 was the complete lack of pace up front, no out ball to relieve all that pressure. I know Kone was way off it, but I was relieved just to see him on the pitch after that horror Dev tackle. Hopefully he will now get up to speed. We need him firing on all cylinders. |
