First time I've ever seen the draft excluder wave to the crowd while defending a free kick. What a legend..

Most iconic player you have seen play against Saints

Gullit at Stamford Bridge. He even made Le Tiss look ordinary that day.

Yesterday's 5-1 away win at Charlton will be forever tainted by the fact that Jack Stephens gave away a corner after two minutes.

I'm Back
at 00:39 17 Nov 2025

The Ypres Salient is indeed fascinating, Hill 60 is one of my favourite places, but a lot of the old battlefield has been developed and you're never far from a busy main road. The Somme battlefields, however, are still very rural and quiet by comparison. We went to a little village in the middle of the battlefield called Guiilemont which was the scene of heavy fighting and a local resident invited us in to his shed to look at his collection of shell cases, shrapnel balls, wire pickets and bits of guns he'd dug up in his garden. We also went up to Redan Ridge (via the famous Sunken Lane) where dozens of members of the 1st Hampshires were wiped out on 1st July. With a replica trench map and a bit of imagination you can walk virtually the exact same route they took from their jumping off point on that fateful morning. I could probably quite happily retire to the Somme.

Ceasefire in effect

And without Trump flogging all those weapons to Israel it might have ended a bit earlier possibly. Trump openly boasted the other day that America is making a fortune out of these wars. To be honest, he could cure world poverty and end all wars but he'd still be a Grade A c**t.

He should go to Germany, change his name to Dominik and Saints would probably buy him for about 10 million quid.

To be fair, if Armstrong had smacked the ball with as much accuracy as Wilder we'd have gone in level at half time.

Atmosphere
at 11:16 15 Sep 2025

The atmosphere was great where I was in the Northam. One of the bonuses of standing in there is that you can hardly hear the away fans now during the game. Mind you, as we wandered back into town afterwards we could hear them all celebrating their heroic nil-nil draw like they'd won the Champions League. Still, I guess after all the years of being so far behind us they deserved their big day out.

Players who didn’t give a 💩 today
at 14:40 18 May 2025

Wow, you think this group of players would finish mid-table in the Premier League if they tried a bit harder? Interesting viewpoint. And there was me thinking it was down to our catastrophic transfer policy and terrible managerial decisions. Perhaps we don't need Will Still or Danny Rohl, we need Mr Motivator.

On This Day 1989
at 08:47 16 Apr 2025

I was at Upton Park that day but I didn't know anything about the events at Hillsborough until I was on the tube after the game. I do recall a few people on the train jumping to conclusions and blaming the Scousers, assuming they'd started a riot. After all, this was only four years after Heysel.
