Will take some persuading and a fair bit of cash I should imagine. I fully expect him to join another League One club after his release from Portsmouth. His relationship with the Cowley's might be enough to sway him and it would definitely be a move I would welcome though.
From the article in the Colchester Gazette I don't think too many of last season's squad will be here next season, even the ones currently under contract. |

And Gavin Massey released by Port Vale. Maybe we could sign a whole team of former players. Probably wouldn't be the youngest though. |

Smith, Kazeem and Cooper were barely figuring in the league. It was obvious he didn't fancy Greenidge or Mitchell as Richardson and Harbottle were brought in and went straight in the team. Mitchell was really the only regular starter out of that group though, and in my opinion a better player than Harbottle. |

For the six players included in the January squad that were missing from the April squad it was impossible for nearly all of them to be included due to injuries, suspension or having left the club. When you look at the players that were available in both January and April it's literally the same squad. The only players that figured in either that appear to have gone anywhere in the time since the Cowley's arrived are Al-Amin Kazeem and Cooper, both loaned out. The National League is certainly a very different proposition now. Luton took quite some time to get out of it and look what had to happen to at Stockport and Wrexham for them to get promoted. Of the last 15 teams to get relegated (Stevenage managed to avoid it in the 2019-20 season) only three of them have returned. Grimsby, Notts County and Leyton Orient.
Yes, something we should be thankful for as the National League have been pushing for a third spot for some time now. I'm guessing with Wrexham now well away from the National League it won't be pushed quite so hard as it may have been. |

This means a spot on is worth five points but you could also get a point if you predicted Col U to win 2-1 and they drew 1-1 and you'd get three points if it finished 2-0 or 3-1, 4-1, 5-1 etc.

They've scored four in 10 and lost five of them including their last two. They'll want to get over the line in any way that they can. No point trying to finish fifth and end up coming eighth. They're going to be just as tight and nervous as us. |

Feeling nervous already and kick off is nearly eight hours away still. If we were in Sutton's position right now we'd all think we're dead and buried, apart from maybe Durham, but even in the relatively strong position we're in we still think we might contrive to mess it up.
Can't Doncaster just let us have a point and then go and beat Gillingham on Saturday? If it goes to the Crewe game there are going to be two very nervy teams on display. |
