If Watts and Margetson junior are seen as the real deals then Nichols can hold the fort until they are 23 and 20 respectivly. with 100 games under their belts.

It depends on Watson' s work. For the first time I can remember the club has put a big emphasis on recruitment. The US people have realised how important it is.

Recruitment was low key in the Jenkins era. No one knew who David Ledbettef was and he liked it that way.

Page said one penalty kick from qualifying. It must be actually two kicks. Page is not right enough to see this. Poland did not miss a kick. If James had scored there would have been at least two more PKs. Details count and Page is sloppy and messed up his subs.

Many references to the Women's team. Some talk of increasing commercial sponsorship revenue.

Folks that say on one hand they do not understand what he does and then say it is a waste of money look a bit silly to me along with the golf jibes.

Coleman / Watson has to make a big difference or they are going home to Washington be It DC or Tyne and Wear.

The meeting conference wedding events would be all in direct competition with Swansea.com.

Not only is there a direct loss of income but new competition for business in a tight market.

Fans on here call The Ospreys a "burden to be removed" . Way off the mark as usual..

How an they grow in a 6000 seater stadium? . They cannot without a huge WRU subsidy. That is what they will be relying on and the kind cooperation of Swansea city to help them out when 6500 want to go.

I saw on the laptop the Denmark u21 Wales u21 game in Denmark.

The Danes as per normal passed better than Wales and had better technique, The scored
1-0. I thought to myself 'I have been here before'.

The Danes started lording it over Wales with confidence and arrogance pressing to complete another easy days work. Then after about 30 mins Wales showed some threat as Colwill fed through speedy Pat Jones.

Colwill then started feeding in the Welsh forwards on counter attacks. Jones was fed again and the keeper took him out, Pen and red card. After that the Danes were on notice and lost their mojo. Another through ball and another wipe out another Colwill penalty another red card. 1-2 to Wales v 9 men.

Them Matt Jones blew it and took of the Danes tormentor and put on the inferior Savage. What a clown. The Danes took off the handbrake and their spirits rose markedly. Wales lost they man at a corner 2-2 on the last few minutes after Savage missed a one on one.

Wales sat back with 9 men and could not boss possession. Jones did not even pick him for the home game.. He is about as talented a coach as Page.

He came on and whacked a freekick onto the bar for someone to tap in after after coming on as late sub. The Danes cruised to a 0-2 at Rodney parade. Welsh coaches are not up to much.

Only u21 but he has made big strides this season and no surprise to me. The wales team is dysfunctional and less than the sum of its parts. A sign of bad coaching.

Opinions. Lets see who is right in the next few years.

Coleman arrived in early May 2023.but Winter did not leave until the end of June. The accounts were for the period ending 31 July 2023.

Winter was handing over the reigns to Coleman up until the end of month 11. Coleman was in sole charge for only one month of that year. He gos now in sole charge starting in August 2024.
Welsh rugby is shrinking and the Os want a "comfortable home". to accommodate shrinkage. They gave a weak mentality that wants to live of the WRU and Cardiff people. This is not " doing something about it" in my book.

If they ever get successful they will have to leave the 6,000 stadium. Being successful is not in the plan.

Some old timers bang on about Roger Blyth and Tony Clement and wins over Australia. This is so far over the horizon it has no relevance. This is the problem. Youngsters ard not interested.

The re birth of Swansea RFC will not see droves returning sadly. The best long term fans for the future will be 20 now and only ever known of the Ospreys.

Cardiff Rugby kept their brand and colours and ditched the Blues tag sometimes in Covid. I was not aware of it but met Halalolo in a cafe and he told me he played for Cardiff Rugby.

Swansea always looked smooth when he was playing. A " Castrol GTX" player. The antithesis of this is Fulton who is more solid but Swansea look more wooden with him and Grimes.

The council built a smallest stadium as a multi function stadium for the Swans and Ospreys. Both are losing big money.

Ospreys it seems " dream'" of 6k in their own stadium. Wow what an ambition. Shrinkage is never a good business plan. For bigger games they will ring Coleman up for a favour. "Sorry mate, we have a women's games try CCS"

Nathan Wood dilemma : Nothing to do with improvement it’s all about profit and
at 13:06 14 Jun 2024

Away at Ipswich(?) their forward got away and was on goal 5 m behind Wood. He turned caught him up and dispossessed him. A magnificent piece of football. In the VAR free game the dozy referee gave a penalty. Wood must have thought " what's the point?".

He had the tools and only 21-22. One to keep but he will not sign.

Wood is 4 years younger than Cullen. Cullen's assets is based on him being OK and cheap. If that is the case why was Mark Harris not signed on a free last year. He did much better in league 1 than Cullen did.

Wood is fast and a good touch and will only get better. He has spent much of his time under Martin and in front of Fisher.

With Swansea's two major sporting institution losing a lot of money, adding new debt the Ospreys and reducing revenue for Swansea city is not what the doctor ordered.

Swansea councillor would be doing a disservice to sport in Swansea by allowing this move. It would help in the short term with construction jobs and a honeymoon year or two but that would not last long.

Swansea city pays money to the Council and new 4 G pitches (reportedly). They could play hard ball if any contracts are broken.

Swansea city agreed a deal to take over the stadium with the Council for 30 years or so paying them money for the first time. Now the Council is giving encouragement for long term tenant to move to another Swansea council site to compete with the Swansea.com.

There may be a case for legal objection in there somewhere perhaps?

Football one week rugby the next week in the winter months. Just what you want to make a profit.

When I was in the club shop is seemed to me to be roughly 50 / 50. Not that it matters much. Ospreys branding is quite cool I think.

So Os go to St Helen's. What happens then?. They move out of the Morfa shop into their own shop on the front (which they need to build) A portacabin perhaps? . They cannot use the same staff who are probably idle much of the time outside match days. Get it yet?

Swansea cricket club play at St Helens as I understand it. The Council were making enquiries to rehouse them somewhere. They could kick up a fuss.

I have to question you good sense of perspective. The idea is to set up a multi purpose stadium for conferences ,seminars, women football, concerts etc. It is duplication and bad business for SCFC. 'Take That' may want to go to St Helens not Swansea.com next time.

St Helens is owned by Swansea city Council who were proud to establish a multi purpose facility at Morfa and flogged it on. They get an annual fee from "The Yanks" despite the fact they are losing money. They also get a cut of revenues. For them is "robbing Peter to pay Paul". Money once spent in Morfa will now be spent in St Helens.

The Swansea council are putting this income at risk by running away with a 'younger woman'. The Os rely on them entirely. If they say no then they have to go to Bridgend.

The O's play $hit rugby. Everyone know it. Their crowds have no songs (ole ole ole gets a bit tedious but they do not sing racial slurs to their credit.) a while watching scrums for 20 minutes. The company I worked for had a box on Sundays. It was a real job to get anyone to come for a free Sunday lunch and free booze unless the Turks were in town.

The O's will most probably continues to underwhelm. If they become super successful they would ask to return to the Swansea.com. They would be competition so if I was Mr Coleman I would direct them to Cardiff. (CCS)

Coleman may be happy for them to go freeing up the stadium for the Women's team also called Swansea city. They will not have much to grow to match the O's rugby.

'SYNERGY' is what the stadium was built for. Uncoupling loses this benefit. Swansea city council should not allow this proposal to go ahead. They would not be serving the rate payers.

I would like to see the business plan. Too few fans is the problem. Bad rugby using a stadium size as an excuse for public rejection.

I hope it is better than Gamorgan's was. Cardiff council ratepayers were fleeced. It predicates a need for more fans to justify the move. More fans is governed by better rugby not the stadium.

St Helens will do Ok for a year or two them could become a 'white elephant'. WRU were already prepared to merge the O's with the Scarlets last year. It is known one region at least has to go.

I like the look of Evan Watts who does those rapid transition long throws and good shot stoppers. He forced his way into the Wales u21 team. There is also the younger Kit Margetson Wales u17 keeper. Hopefully Margetson senior rates them both as projects an it is one of the reasons for re-signing.

I recall the Freiburg match under Potter.

I think Siwan was put into service and she did not know one of the German players including three international players. She used the word " lush" a few times and this is not an accepted football word as we all know.

I suspect it was not entirely her fault and suspect she was subject to a prank. Research and professionalism has been thin on the ground in recent years ( excluding Cyril and Trundle of course)

Trunds and Cyril have huge comic potential. Makes me laugh anyway.

Wiki extract on Tony Morley.

"A skilful, nippy winger, Morley enjoyed the best days of his career at Villa Park. He was seen as a wayward genius but was moulded by manager Ron Saunders into one of the most dangerous players around."

Hard repetitive training and maybe Williams and team a can "mould" Platcheta.

Synergies and money come with both the Ospreys and SCFC bringing 20,000 between them every weekend. Look at the shop, half Ospreys half SCFC. When they leave the Ospreys merch will have to go somewhere else. Double floor space double staff half the returns. Bad business.

It is conceivable Swans fans buy Os merch especially the kids. More osses there.

It is my contention that the Os will not play any better at St Helens. It is the poor rugby that is chasing the fans away not the atmosphere at the Swansea.com.

The Os do not seem to accept boring rugby is the reason. They did not spin the ball much when Shane Williams was in his pomp. Who want to see scrum and playing for mistakes and penalties?

What other team will play there? . Swansea rugby club?. The cricket has to go.

This ground is is direct competition with the Swansea.com. SCFC pay the council £300k per season probably based on a contract including the Os. Coleman might want to renegotiate the deal.

There is nothing in this that benefits SCFC. Lost income and competition for concerts and events. There is already one efficient multi function stadium. Why have two non efficient ones?

Placheta might become a swans player?
at 18:30 12 Jun 2024

Platcheta is super fast but not a rounded footballer with regard to assists and goals judging by his statistics. Nathan Dyer was a bit like this and I recall him being described as a "headless chicken". He turned out to be an all time great at the club.

Swansea city have coaching experts whose job it is to get the best out of raw potential. They must make a judgement as to if PP has a upside to his game and is durable enough.

It is no use having turbo speed if you panic when clear one on one.
