I can't remember the last time I watched the Rs with a 3 goal cushion for so long. I really enjoyed the pressing, the energy, the bite and the shape. We rode out luck a bit and made our own luck as well. Well done to everyone today my MOTM is Kholli but shout out to Saito, Dunne, Varane, Smyth, Morrison and Cook. Well done Marti. That felt much more like it today. |

Marti did a great join last year to keep us up and really brought some professionalism and class to proceedings. I can help but feel that his performance in the championship was improved by having Ainsworth's salt of the earth type pros around him and polishing that turd well. He is now trying to build a budget tiki taka style at the bottom of the championship and it just isn't working. I really thought that we would turn a corner this year and be in mid table with clear progress and enjoyable football to watch. I have tuned out for the last few games. I just check results and come on here for a limited amount of time to see how my fellow Rs are reacting. It's just not fun supporting the Rs again. It's not like I'm going to support another club.....I just do other things and watch other sports instead. Such a shame as I do like Marti. |

Yesterday I was walking around Málaga in my Rs walk on top. In the restaurant where we went for lunch some guy says "4-0 last night". Turns out they were a family from Belgium who had been at the Preston game the week before and totally loved the experience. Loved the atmosphere at LR. Showed me their photos with all the players etc. When I left the restaurant the son shouted U Rs. It was a lovely moment to follow up Friday night. Sure it's been done before but I'd love to hear some other random Rs Moments.... |

What a great feeling. Feels like we won something yesterday. Maybe it wasn't a trophy or promotion, but it was about more than just survival. It was about our identity and our future. We didn't just scrape across the line, or depend on someone else being shite, we dominated a big club, with a massive budget, another full house with LR rocking, under the lights, live on TV. The turnaround has been remarkable. Marti has given a management masterclass off the pitch and is getting better and better on the pitch as he works out the Championship. His vision is clear, he communicates his message eloquently - hard work, defensive organisation, attacking style, desire to win,, togetherness, humility. A few months ago I feared for the future of the club, from top to bottom. Everything just seemed rotten. Now I feel proud, hopeful and excited for the future. It has been a wild ride but this has been one of the seasons I have felt most connected to the club and the fellow supporters. LFWs is a massive part of that so thank you Clive and everyone here. My children both asked me when we can go to see another live match, yesterday they both came to watch the match on TV and enjoyed it. They both were talking with pride about "their" team and wanting new kits. Before Christmas they had totally lost interest and made jokes about QPR always losing. Hopefully there are loads of kids in West London and around the world who also fell in love with QPR this season and next year they can build that connection. The Rs are staying up, I'm off to see Fat Boy Slim tonight in Malaga and life feels pretty damn good today. U Rs |

A performance that summed him up. Was just about our best player but missed 2 sitters. First time he was with us he was 50% of a good player. This time around he is 70% of a good player. By the time he comes good he will.have lost his pace. I like him and am happy he's in the squad but he is frustratingly just lacking that final pass or shot. |

Roberts, Sanderson and Laird. All were average and reminded me of unpleasant times. Would much rather have Paal, Cook and Smyth. Made me think how much has changed in the last 12 months around the club. If we can push on and survive we are moving in the right direction again, with the right type of players coming in. |
| Forum Thread | Getting to know Marti at 20:33 16 Dec 2023
When Marti came in it was such a contrast to GA that it felt amazing. There was clarity, a system, confidence and results. It felt like everything was going to go smoothly and he could do no wrong. Over the last 2 games we are starting to get to know him better as a manager. This means we are understanding his limitations as well as his strengths. There have been some strange selections, a lot of subs, changes of systems in the game, poor in game management. He is a proactive manager and is always trying things. He has a limited squad and inherited a team with a losing mentality. He is very eloquent and professional. I am very happy we have him. The sooner that we fully understand how he works and he fully understands the league and our players the better. I am hoping to keep ticking along over Christmas, picking up a win or two and then go on a run with the home games in January. If he can pick up a couple of players to help keep us in the division I would like to see him have 2-3 windows to build a team. Anyway it feels a bit like when you get a new girlfriend and she seems amazing but after a few months you realise she has daddy issues. No one is perfect. |
| Forum Thread | Watching with my son at 12:58 2 Dec 2023
I could see the lights from Loftus Road and hear the roar when we scored a goal when I was little. Season ticket as a kid and then moved away and followed QPR from a distance and went whenever I could. I live in Spain now but have taken my kids to Loftus Road when in London and they've always had kits and Jude etc. The last year I haven't suggested to my kids that they watch us on TV with me at all as the experience hasn't really been enjoyable or entertaining. Last 2 games my 10 year old son has been on the sofa with me (his choice) getting more and more into the hoops, celebrating the goals and getting to know the players. Hopefully this brand of football and a string of results will help to fully cement his support at this age. |

The Jerez thread flushed me out. Been reading for years. Grew up in W12, season ticket in the early to mid 90s. Moved away and then to Spain. Watched about 30 games on TV this season. Somehow have persuaded my kids to support QPR. Very disappointed with how everything has turned out this season. Combination of poor recruitment, bad luck and some thing rotten in the culture at the club. Hope GA and Dobbo can come up with a system that is effective and find some gems in the lower divisions. Not holding my breathe though. Try to take the Rs less personally these days. Favourite cheese is semi cured sheep's cheese from the Cádiz mountains called Payoyo. |
