Why our squad is here

From today’s Times — don’t want to retype it all from the paper version and the online version is behind a paywall so can’t link. In short:

Mark Hughes claims that “the novelty of being involved in a relegation battle has attracted players to the club.” He is “convinced that a desire to confront the experience of potential failure is a reason why so many of his squad have come to Loftus Road. They’re really enjoying the emotions they’re feeling and the challenges they have....they’ve come here because they wanted that challenge”.

Interesting take on players’ motivations.
