Not sure what was said. But pretty clear from their expressions the players were apologising. A couple of people were gesturing at Mbengue who didn't appreciate it and he was hauled away. Mbengue worked pretty hard in that game. Interestingly, when Mbengue turned to clap the fans - there was an appreciative "Mbengue" chant from quite a few. |

Spot on Jez I clapped for all the same reasons. Plus, I respect that they came over to apologise, Jimmy held his hands up. I really don't understand the people who were giving out to Mbengue when he came over to apologise. You can't accuse him of not working hard. We've all messed up at work. When that happens, do we really expect our bosses to sneer at us, call us w**nkers and walk off. No, especially not if a few days before we've done something really good (whatever your equivalent of winning at Hull is). It's about respect. |

Mbengue and Kone - boy have they both suffered and fought for their chance in life. Both young men still learning and working hard for the team - even if they don’t always get it right. Glad they are ours! |

The language re Sam seems mutually respectful. From what I see of Sam I think he’s a professional on and off the pitch. I hope over the summer a good future is worked out for even if we lose him. |

Spent yesterday evening trying to get my head round that ending. Entertaining game, some really good moments from us. But, utter panic for three mins from the team that successfully shithoused Stoke to a 0-0. Que? Wise woman on the Ellerslie Road on the way out, said to her kids, "that's the heartbreak of football". Too right. Poor kid. Curse your parents for your inheritance. Sometimes the gods give us nice things, like Kieran Morgan in his pants having blown Brum away. Sometimes, they build our hopes only to kick us in the nuts. Thank God it's only a game. |

It's been a long Xmas !! |

Do you know what stunned me? Just how long it took the announcer to read the list of former QPR and Southampton players who died in those two wars. I was genuinely shocked. Looking it up - 28 QPR/Former QPR players served in WW1. 10 were killed. More than 1 in 3. I knew about 800,000 British soldiers died in WW1 - but it's hard to relate a number like that to real people. But, that list of names. I just thought of the survivors looking at a team photo post-war and seeing the faces that didn't live. |

Sadly, a 35% home win rate is right on par for lower-mid table. I was thinking about your comment and I expected the % win rate to be higher. Looking at the last five years we've averaged W/D/L at home of 35%/27%/38%. The average for the teams finishing between 11-20 place is W/D/L: 37%/26%/36%. That works out as on average teams placing between 11 and 20 get 32 home points and we average 30 points. That's not to disrespect your comment - but I guess it's about expectations. For me what was disappointing was that a poor Southampton team were there for the taking and we didn't. |

Wow - that could be very good news. I was worrying it was a two year deal expiring Summer 26! |

Madsen seems to be developing from a talented young man into a real player. Well done to him, JS and the club's coaching team. How long is his contract? Is it too early to be talking about negotiating an extension? And the boy deserves a song! |

https://www.facebook.com/photo I did find this graph of political leaning against social standing for a selection of clubs round the world. God knows whether there is any research behind it! But, Chelsea just about the most socially elite and right wing club in the world, apparently. |

Thinking about the furore over banning Macabi fans from Villa and the recent cancellation of the TelAviv derby between Macabi which attracts right wing fans and Hapoel which attracts left wing fans. Does England have any clubs that have a recognised left wing following - i.e. in the style of St Pauli? I think of us a genuinely integrated, community focussed club but apolitical. |

Worth remembering if you don’t get tickets through the ballot there is a returns / resale phase in the spring for people unsuccessful in the ballot . We’ve got tickets through this the last couple of years. |
 | Forum Reply | Stephan stands by team selection after QPR draw and gives Clarke-Salter update at 15:17 2 Oct 2025
The more I see of him the more I respect him. Seems pretty sincere and thoughtful and as open as someone in his position can be. I'd have rather he started with a stronger team, but he justified his selection, fair enough, I get it. I suspect he might tweak it when next faced with the same situation. Trouble is, in our wider UK blame culture if you fess up to every 'minor misjudgement' people very quickly make out you don't what you're doing. On balance, 8 games, 12 points, unbeaten in 5 and a team that generally looked in control last night. The guy is doing good! |
 | Forum Reply | The Ultimate Dilemna - what would you do ??? at 12:59 1 Oct 2025
I'd have taken a long time to get over it as well. But, I note your spelling of 'dilemna'. I guess you went to school in the 70s and like me, are sure we were taught that it is spelled with an 'n'. Apparently it's always been spelt 'mm'. It's the Mandela Effect - apparently, we're all party to some collective misremembering. It was commonly mispelled and somehow 'people' have decided they were taught it as 'mn' at school. I know what I was taught! Bizarre. |

Mbengue taking the flag was funny… and did you see Jimmy ever so calmly taking the flag off him, like a primary schoolteacher with a naughty boy and giving it back to the ball boy! The captain’s job spec is very broad!! |

Hi I’ve used the commercial team at Farrers for some tricky negotiations. They are expensive but very good. I’d recommend them. Good luck |

Pure poetry! Finding a few words that distil both a person and a moment so perfectly is such a gift. I will remember that description of Koki for a long time! Great writing. And like so many others on here I really enjoy and appreciate your work on LFW! |
