There are a number of athletic young Australian footballers for whom the A League isn't stretching enough. As well as our 3, Portsmouth have Hayden Matthews and Adrian Segecic; Watford have Irakunda. Maybe 1 of them will go on to have a long career at Championship level or above. ATM, the jury's out. I'm not sure CCM, bottom.of the League and in financial difficulties would be the first choice for any investment. |

Get real folks. You should know football in UK started in 1993 with the launch of the Pl. Championship/L1/L2 are almost irrelevant. Wet Spam's problems are already well documented. All yesterday's result achieves is a little breathing space for NES and that club. If we'd won it might have been different. But not by much. |

The coaching staff at QPR know how good he can be. Otherwise he wouldn't have been made first choice at the start of thi season. Sure, he's been on the wrong end of 2 hidings. If you look back at both Leicester and Coventry, how many of the goals were his fault? |

Plenty on that toXXXic site, slagging off Walsh. Before the game has even started. Bench looks very light, but there's nothing else fit, defensively. |

You'd like to think we have some players with an ambition to play in the PL; Sunday gives them a chance to show they deserve it. I'm quite prepared to accept that, as a PL club for now, West Ham should be favourites. What I don't want to see is the sort of spineless approach that far too often marks our approach to Cup competitions. Or, even worse, a team sheet that is like a surrender document, e.g. Plymouth |

If the model is to buy young, develop and then sell on for a profit, and the report from WLS is close in terms of transfer fee, it's a no brainer to sell Varane. He's been with us 18 months, cost under £1m and we'd bank a profit of £4.2m on a player most of us think is not performing very well. The only downside to the rumoured interest is the loan before buy. Anybody remember Hevertton being loaned to Portugal OR Celar to Dusseldorf. |
 | Forum Reply | Ronnie Edwards at 19:21 8 Jan 2026
Are we getting the Ronnie on loan OR the one who can't get close to Southampton's defence? 4.5m is a lot of money for us. But, the club are, surely, going to clear some high earners off the books this Summer. Cook, Frey and Nardi the most obvious. If we get the good Ronnie, then the fee will soon be forgotten. |
 | Forum Reply | Daniel Bennie at 19:10 8 Jan 2026
There's a report that Wycombe, who were interested in a loan deal, have accepted that QPR want to keep hold of him. With Burrell out until end of March, we're short on numbers up front. Frey has looked a long way short this season and appears to be on his way out of our club. AFAIK, Bennie is a decent athlete, and seems to have a.knack.of picking up goals. At 19, he deserves a go. Probably as back up to Kolli, who'll probably not last more than 70 minutes. |

"who knows how many clubs over spending money they haven't got". If it is less than 95% of them, I'd be shocked. Including QPR who were losing £2m per month very recently. |

Followers on any social media is a poor correlation with real interest. I have accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Bluesky, although I barely use the first 2. Facebook, because I dont need the world to know where I am. Twitter because it's absolutely toxic. I only use it for QPR news since the club decided not to use Bluesky. |

I live in France nowadays and have made 2 home games this season. A bit of a contrast between Oxford and Leicester. |

How many of our squad have ambitions of playing in the PL? I'd suggest quite a few. Well the FA Cup presents a chance to show it. |

Hard to argue with that assessment. However, he is a striker and he is already ours. The alternatives seem to be 1 Keep Frey 2. Recall Celar from Dusseldorf 3. Promote from DS, e.g. Dillon, Vaughan, Hassan, Sanyaolu 4. Struggle on with Kone and Kolli until Burrell is fit 5. Use Smyth, Saito or 1 of the other midgets as a striker. Because that worked so well last season, I.e. WBA away 6. Try to loan/buy another striker for peanuts. No 4 seems the only acceptable choice, but we'd probably need to go back to 4-2-3-1 |

V good result. As said, City have (bought) one of the best Academies in the country. Bennie has made a good case for a loan at L1 level - if we can afford to let him go. Also Brunson is only 16. |
