Gazza, I know what his attitude was like from when he played for us. He was often seen casually jogging back after our attacks broke down and he had left a great gap on the left side of our defense. He often turned inside and passed backwards when found on the half way line. I always thought he was better as a midfielder. He was really impressive there on his debut in a win at Wolves.
Yep, always good going forward, when he is found in space. Quality crosses and dead balls. However, I'm not too sure about his pace, his ability to beat a man or his defensive ability.
27 appearances in a side that finished rock bottom and shipped goals doesn't strike me as premier league quality defender. |

I'm not abusing him but is he really a premier league quality left back? He made 27 appearance last season and Southampton were rubbish.
He has always had a great left foot and may possibly have improved his attitude, in order to get in their side, but he has been a lazy player when it comes to tracking back and defending.
I do agree that they are the best side in the Championship this year. |

Southampton is a one league club city and surrounding area with a population of over 1.2 million in the 2021 census.
The broader Shepherds Bush area has a population of 40,000 and has three other clubs within five miles and several others within about 10 or so miles.
I know times have changed and we regularly sell out 17,000 but even in 75/76 we only got above 25000 when we had a really big match and hoards of away fans.
It's a bit simplistic as lots of fans travel much further but it's probably much easier for Southampton to fill 30,000. |

Love the preview, Clive. Spot on and honest as always.
A big test for us. It would be nice for the team and all the motoring fans, to head up the M3's tailbacks and diversions with a result to commence this week's round of three.

Living on the South Coast with many of their fans among our aquaintances, I would really appreciate us getting a positive result tomorrow.
Mrs FB and me have been giving it large about the error of their ways and how their elimination from the play offs was the only possible sanction for the spying on Middlesbrough. |

I went to a gig there recently. Seems to have loads of standing room. It's opposite the Mayflower theatre. Five minutes walk from station but about thirty from the ground. |

Maybe we could move KemPer into lcb and play Cirkin at lb.
KemPer moving position would allow Ronnie to get stuck into their midfield.
I think that KemPer and Jimmy would be a decent pairing.
We need to get the P back into Kem er 😁. [Post edited 30 Oct 10:32]

Charlie, I am very sorry for your loss, condolences to all your family.
I never knew your Dad apart from reading his often very witty comments on this board. I will miss Ted for that as will the vast majority on here as demonstrated by the so far six pages in reply to your message.
It's sad to hear that Ted suffered but good to know he was comforted by you all and calm at the final whistle.

I would have thought it was a Belk/Noury signing. I doubt that our head coach, Julien, knew much about young players not getting many games in league one, when he had only been in the UK for about six months. |

Alfie couldn't get in Lincoln side either!
It's a bit like Morgan at Bradford. Very difficult for young players to get chances in sides that are getting good results at the right end of the table. |

Win, lose or draw, he was/is better than virtually all the other refs in this league.
As Clive said a couple of flaws but otherwise fine. |

If it doesn't change for some of them by January, recall them, train with the squad and research more suitable loans, if our injury situation allows. |

It wasn't just Clive though, if you look at the ratings from us posters and fans, both JV and HV are about six to six and a half. |

Yes, JV had a dodgy start to the game but he did improve from then on and gave a steady effective performance. |
