 | Forum Reply | Frustration rather than fireworks as QPR fizzle against Burnley – Report at 08:40 5 Nov 2026
Burnley were proper poor, Vine did as good as FA, Walker, a fantastic player who was brilliant on loan here, needs to 'hang his boots up but I suppose for what he is earning at Burnley - why not continue!! There were plenty of others in the Burnley side as well who were not very good too. We should have won this match by a 'country mile'........probably as easy as we did against the Swans. Another two points dropped - we cannot keep doing that against very limited sides if we want play-offs. [Post edited 5 Nov 8:41]

AND Cirkin is the least of our worries, we have 2 decent LB's......sadly it is not easy to just move him over to the RB position, it would make his job 100 times harder. He should be playing more often & he was decent against Burnley. |

You are right Norf, his hands are tied with the injury situation but he is making team selection/tactic errors........Saints for example, & I know it is not easy, he fully knows that they are a top team, he knows it is difficult to change a winning 5-0 team, so just change the formation slightly to protect the full backs instead of playing 2 up top. Minor but could be very beneficial. Yes we are short, but why continually start Vale who is not performing. Not easy for him but that is why our bank balance falls into insignificant compared with hus. I forget so much nowadays, but there have been some poor team selections & substitutions, West Ham being one of them. It is not easy for him but I think he is good enough to stop these, to what I think, are basics. He is also doing some proper things for this Club as well. PS - Dont get me started about these 3 games a week & player tiredness - its mostly bollxxx [Post edited 4 Nov 16:33]

There should be no QPR supporter 'happy' with a draw against a very limited & pretty poor Burnley side where we controlled the match......we should have won very comfortably indeed. |

Good enough for us, thought he did OK last night, better than our young RB. I like Kember but would like to see both playing.....can he play elsewhere than LB?? |

1. Burnley were a very average team indeed, probably the worst to visit Loftus this season. 2. The first 30 minutes, prior to their goal, we were so dominant but failed to be clinical enough nor took the right options when in the final third of the pitch. We had gotten ourselves in good situations but failed thereafter. 3. The conceded goal started when Edwards headed the ball down to the Burnley player. (Defensive headers should be 'Height & Distance', this header was exactly the opposite) Maybe Charles should have stopped the shot at goal, maybe. 4. Basically the first half (& the 2nd) it highlighted our limitations in our forward play, it was generally pretty poor by every player who got into advanced positions, snatching at shots, not getting shots on target, not using the ball well & it goes on. The final third we were awful. 5. Much of a muchness in the 2nd half but we scored through poor keeping. The Manager needs to stop playing Smyth as CF, it worked against Swans but that doesn't mean it will always work, the Manager needs to stop starting Vale nearly every match (he is very average indeed), The Manager needs to give Obikwu a start. The Manager needs to tell the players to shoot if they are 20 yards out with space rather than try and find a tight pass. Lots to think about for the Manager & the players, we cannot keep dropping points against pretty average Teams in this Division if we hope to get into the play-offs.. And finally, Nourry needs to put his hands in his pocket & sign a striker, we are so very limited in that area. |

If Ryan Manning's attitude was a bad as you are saying then he would not have been selected, at the young age of 20/21, to play 30 odd Championship games nor would he have been selected to play 41 Championship times when he was 23.....he would not have been selected if he was not working hard - simple as that. Likewise, if his positioning was not good he would not have been selected. FYI, if he is attacking forward on the left it is for the other defenders to come across to the left to fill the hole. As for Manning being a midfielder - I do not concur, I would suggest 5 or 6 Manager's who select his position as LB knows his favoured position & that is not midfield despite impressing you once at Wolves. Moving on, at the age of 30ish he has played approaching 400 games professionally, only 27 in the Premier league with Saints and to comment on Saints 'shipped goals' basically not knowing very little how & why they did but suggesting it was his fault is wrong. Don't forget the plus 20 odd games for his national side. I have seen him many play times, because of my interest in ex QPR players, and he certainly looks a pretty decent LB with many Premiership qualities, hence why I believe he is good enough for the PL. We will see if Southampton get promoted this season when he will get another chance to prove himself. |

If he is then it cuts down JS options unless you introduce Morrison into the Team, where did you hear that JCS is not playing tomorrow??, suggests he has gotten worse since sitting on the bench on Saturday!!! |

Yep he is.....hence the 27 matches he played for the Saints last season in the top league in the world. He was one of the best players on the park on Saturday and when I have seen him play he mostly looks a most decent player. Big asset for the Team the way he get forward much of the time and delivers the ball excellently, 'top dollar' left foot too. Not sure how you know what his attitude was like and it has now improved, etc, etc. What has Saints were rubbish last season got to do with it?? As I said elsewhere, he is a very decent left back and arguably one of the best in the Championship, but hey, if you want to 'knock him', its up to you but you are well wrong!!! |

I have seen WH & Boro......imho Saints are far better. Doesn't mean they will finish higher just yet because they need to 'do the bis' when there are real pressures, it is minimal atm until we get closer to the 'business end' of the season.. |

Manning is too good for QPR.....a proper LB & a Premiership player. I do not understand why he gets abuse from QPR fans. He left to earn a decent wage, play some proper football & provide for his family - noe of which QPR could provide. I, just, do not get why players get abused on this MB. |

We should not be taking chances with JCS or any other player unless the fitness team &, just as importantly, the player himself is confident that the injury is 'sorted'. It is not just the fitness team. [Post edited 2 Nov 9:56]

I have no knowledge of the back room fitness team so I am unable to comment but I am surprised by the amount of adverse comments about them &, despite the top man being best mates with Nourry, he is still here........BUT i do not know. What is for sure, we have a squad good enough to get close this season. |

Regarding 'warming-up'.......half time is just a few minutes to move around and keep warm for the subs. Knock a few balls around. Unless they have been told that they are entering the field of play and then they should go through a full warm up session, probably with the trainers. There is no point in doing a full warm up exercises then go and sit down for 10/15/20 minutes. The players, who are professional footballers, should know if they have warmed up & done loosening exercises, they have a responsibility to ensure that they are ready. |

Nourry has given the Manager the tools to get the job done, its down to JS & his coaching staff plus the players and with a 'helping hand' from us the supporters to ensure the job is done. The job done imho is a play-off position. |
