Apparently according to reports 6000 extra Rangers fans in areas around the away end so that would make 15000 away fans and still over 4000 tickets on sale at West Ham box office.

Think we all know who will be heard the most !!!

But please can we not hear the song "3 nil on your big day out"

Sell Jon Varane ?
at 20:46 10 Jan 2026

Maybe Varane gets so much stick on this forum because of his name. Sure Jobe Bellingham could offer some nuggets of help to overcome such a situation.

If his name was Smith, Jones or Field, do think he would not get much criticism at all.

Just a thought of mine.....

Carrying on as Match Thread Op - "winners stays on", after good result but not so great performance against Sheff Weds.

Got a feeling, we will be heading for our usual defeat in the cup, and with four key players injured, am guessing it wont be a top team at all selected. And think West Ham will play a top side as a defeat here and i think Nuno loses his job.

Hopefully Mr Ronnie is at least in the squad also.

Regards the result, let us pray !!!

Sell Jon Varane ?
at 19:49 9 Jan 2026

Am truly not sure why this guy gets so much stick.

We got practically all good eggs in our squad now and have not seen any troublesome vibes from Varane. He does seem to want to play well for the team and has some qualities, for sure.

For me he has been decent and no real issues for me. Only problem, i do wish he would think about a forward pass as its very rare he tries this. Am sure such failings can be ironed out and i think it has worked fine with Madsen.

i do believe some fans will always have one boo boy and i think Varane is the one they want to have a go at. He has been fine for me.

£6million, i would hold out for. If its only £5.2million, I personally would play hard ball, and am sure we could get £6 million in the summer.

What I would say though is, with Edwards coming in, I could see him playing this role at some point and others have said with Morgan, Field and Hayden to, its not as if this role is without cover.

Feel all the nastiness though on here against Varane is very odd. Certainly doesnt deserve boo boy status at all

Terry Yorath RIP

Clumsy words indeed.

Could have left it at the first two sentences. Him saying he enabled Gabby to be employed by Sky because he thought she would be ok as he knew her dad. Bigging himself up and probably a very flimsy truth also.

I was bit too young to remember him as a player but knew the back story with his son.

RIP Terry.

RND - Whats occurring ??
at 17:09 9 Jan 2026

Yes similar question

Stephan has rotated most players in a three game week.

I appreciate with RND, someone is trotting out this narrative, but can someone point me to occurrences where this has clearly been an issue.

i can only recall a few poor games he has had, but if this has regularly only been on three game weeks - when what i would say nearly all of the squad have played poorly at least once in three game weeks.

He does what it says on the tin for me. And we seriously have proven so often with full backs, we have serious issues with finding solid full backs and quite surprised most are finding reasons for us to look elsewhere.

With a negotiated deal and wages that are relevant for his role and impact, cant see any evidence shown so far not to sign....

Agree re comments on Morrison.

He has been decent at times, still young at 22. When he has had a run in the team, has been fine for me. People already promoting Tylon Smith above him is a bit nuts. The guy hasnt played a single competitive mens match as yet.

Yes he has done well at age level football. Didnt get a minute on the pitch at Afcon and only played in Carabao Cup farce against Plymouth.

Morrison was in and around at Celtic and Bayern Munich.

Possibly similar routes to QPR, but Morrison has already showed he can kick on. Yes there is hope for Tylon, but he has zero experience as yet.

Cook and JCS wont be here or performing much for ourselves.

Why ditch Luam Morrison ???

RND - Whats occurring ??
at 17:47 8 Jan 2026

i really would like the club to sign this guy.

As i understand it, he is on a season long loan.

Sheff Utd have picked up in form, but clearly didnt rate him highly enough to have him compete for a place in their squad this season, but have there been any indications seen by anyone that they will recall him this window or may want him back after a season here.

For me any fee £2m or under is a very solid investment. He is exactly what we need as a full back, solid, reliable, seemingly good injury record and does what a full back does and occasionally overlaps with our wingers too.

We seem to have had terrible trouble getting decent full backs and a la Edwards if the deal was right, i would be more than happy to see this guy signed permanently.

What do others think ??

I can also see him playing centre mid if required also. He did so in a couple of games for us last season..

Wonder what fee we weren't happy with paying when we were offered Edwards in the summer...

Absolutely fantastic news and very pleased we have signed him permanently.

£4.5 million is a lot but I do think he will do very well for us and if we dont go up in the next couple of seasons, then there would for me be no reason his sale price couldn't make a handy profit.

It is a risk at that price but I think Southampton never really rated him, really hard to understand that from what we saw last season, but am very happy he will be here.

Thought it wasn't going to happen.

I am off to the barbers to cultivate my Ronnie Barnet, all in our Ronnie wigs next home game then....

Stay Classy Man City
at 15:21 8 Jan 2026

To be fair, Exeter will get 45 % of gate receipts around £400k and have 8000 fans there, so the luck of that particular draw in the cup has got them a massive amount of money for a club of their size.

And they could have been drawn away at a small non league outfit and got half a shilling in gate receipts so its a massive and unexpected pay day as it is, and for whatever reason, this club is in debt, that is down their own mismanagement from within.

There are times when the big clubs should clearly be pulled up for irregular behaviour, and they are not, but for instance handing over an extra £100k to a club that may already get around £400k, to help them with their own financial irregularities - that's like me spending all my money down at the bookies and then asking my employer and saying I have no money till the end of the month, can you put an extra £500 into my bank account so I can afford to eat this month.

Would not be calling out Man City over this myself.

Think its a bit of a brass necked cheek from Exeter myself.......

Hamer has had his contract term extended

Although, it does not say for how long. So not sure if its for a couple of months, till the end of the season or even beyond that.

Again communications that are economical with what is being revealed.

My personal view after this is, surely one of Nardi / Walsh will now be attempted to loaned out or be sold, and personally speaking, I would welcome an expected new number one signing who is intended to be the first choice goalkeeper, all being well.

Mahoney-Cooper back from loan at the end of the season, as i understand it to be,

Yes the club is now giving injury information now, but I think they can be very economical with the truth, ie Chair was said to be back in December, now he is only likely to return to training later this month, and the type of injuries are often not one hundred percent accurate either.

I can't see any real reason why not completely opening up to the full realities of some players injuries - ie it doesn't need covering for any competitive advantage for me. Not much point highlighting cases if they not giving the correct information really. Weird.

It was extremely unlucky to get four injuries in one game, but fortunately, our much improved squad depth, we will be able to assess where by we can see if our squad players are as decent as we believe them to be.

And I know some have criticised people moaning about the pitch, but really it's in a horrendous state for a championship club of our resources and the agricultural staff should be concerned about their positions right now. Not sure why any would disagree with this , tbh.

A mate of mine lives in a very small village and their football pitch is pretty pristine and its basically good old Bill on his sit down mower. Yet our pitch maintenance team, if you can blame them for this atrocity, seriously get some of these wages off the club payroll and replace with turf technicians with a great track record please.

If the club could comment about the state of the pitch and why its happened and what can be done to improve this as soon as possible, it would be nice to know what the plan was going forwards.

January transfer rumours
at 01:29 8 Jan 2026

Had to look up the family likenesses etc etc....

And also found out the foitballers sister and obviously the tv presenters daughter also is the girl that plays the very attractive young woman who is in a wheelchair in Eastenders - Penny Branning. Been in a wheelchair since the age of 7 in real life also.

Sorry people, blame it on my partner for knowing that, but anyhow there definitely must be a real competitiveness and willingness to succeed in that family whatever they do.

i dont know the player myself but one of Chelseas many buying to accumulate without the belief that he could ever be a player for a top five premier league club.

So, I would definitely think from all of that, could be worth a punt.
