Glad to see the Brian mystery is solved. Anyone know if johncharles is ok - I was thinking the same about him as I don't think he's been on since mid August and he's usually commenting on the match threads |

Thoughts are with you Mart and for the recovery of your wife.
My mum was in a very bad way in a coma after surgeries on her brain and they said there was no hope and they were going to stop what they were doing to keep her alive. I talked to her and told her she needed to wake up as this was the final chance and we played her some of her favourite music (Tom Jones would you believe) and that was when she reacted . She made it somehow and she wasn't the 'vegetable' the doctors said she would be. I have the best memories of her final few years and if she was ever depressed with her situation I told her she had to remember what a miracle she was as they gave her no chance. So my thought is that there is hope in the most dire situation and the body and brain are amazing things that can recover when all seems hopeless (and play her some of her favourite music if you are able) |

My friend was at Wolverhampton in his younger years and said he remembers practising taking penalties against him there. He spoke to another Wolverhampton player who is a friend, to let him know that he had passed, and he said that Parkes and another friend of theirs (Danks) went for a trial at QPR at some stage but all they came back with was a promise of a hair commercial/ad for Parkes. My friend also didn't know that we had a Phil Parkes he only remembered their one and there was me thinking ours was the only one anyone would have known. |

I didn't realise there were two Phil Parkes, and both were goalkeepers playing around the same time, as the other has died today who played for Wolves. Bit of a shock when I saw the name though |

In that 2011/12 season when we were down at the bottom of the Premier League with the B and W teams I went for them for relegation rather than us. It worked that season and with no thought for any form whatsoever (and limited success) I've stuck with any B and W teams for relegation in our league over the years since - so 10 to choose from then |

This feels a bit like a confessional but, embarrassingly, I was about number 7 or 8 in their fan club when I was around 15 maybe  but never renewed it so I must have got over it quickly . I had their early singles and albums and also a green vinyl Stewart Copeland album (who knows what happened to it) that I recalled was something like Superman but when I look it up now it was Klark Kent so that was the connection. I have some fond memories of their songs because of that time but can't say I listen to them any more |
