In addition to the tickets there was a story on The Athletic that host city hotel prices have spiked up to 400%. I am in Vancouver at the moment and that is the case here- $2,000 a night for the downtown Marriott )that is nowt special) for June dates
There are seven games here including a few Canada games that will doubtless sell out but some real duffers too ( New Zealand - Egypt anyone?) the resale on those is already tanking.
I don’t know much about this Poku lad but liked the look of him the other night- could he be that guy? Looked pacey and good size i think JS has that french thing of developing forwards who can play anywhere.
Alfie would surely be better off getting lots of game time ?
Concur with a lot of that , overall the businessification just rubs me the wrong way … and yet attendances are their highest since the 50s which surprised me ( paywall might be an issue here but in essence - across all leagues highest attendances for 70 years and in champo tickets sales up over 30% since 2013). … so the money men would say the sparkle is back.
I think they both have a fair bit of improvement in them too .Theoretically this is where JS works his magic … looking forwards to seeing how they develop over the next season or two and see what we have then.
Our second string were very poor. I’ll be generous and say we planned keep it tight till 60th min and give starters a run to nick it but we just could not get going.
Good natutred banter today i thought. Fair play to Kelman he was trying not to laugh when getting serenaded by the loft when he was in a defensive wall down that end.
As for if he is any good ?.. will be hard in that charlton team, do not have the quality to create much. Good reminder there is a so much drek in this league.
Of recently published books I have read would recommend James by Percival Everrett.
Loose retelling of the Huck Finn story through the eyes of Jim the Slave. Rattling good story and thought provoking in equal measure -Very much enjoyed it.
If it is true they looked at Our CM’s and thought “We are sorted there lads!” They're bigger idiots than i thought and it should be no surprise they spunk the Eze money.
