Saints V Brentford The Verdict Sunday, 1st May 2011 10:22 Saints dominated from start to finish. Those Saints fans looking forward to a day of biting their nails were disapointed as Saints took the game by the scruff of the neck from the start and never looked like letting it go even when Brentford got and missed a penalty. It was a well drilled and focused display with Adam Lallana pulling the strings and being rewarded with a well taken goal on 16 minutes, on the half hour the lead was doubled and from then on the result was never in doubt. Again you cannot fault any of the 14 who got on the pitch for their display we are finally starting to show why we were the favourites for promotion pre season and when you consider we are winning these games without several key players its all the more satisfying. Strangest moment of the fday came in injury time when a large section of the crowd seemed to think that Brighton had scored a late winner when it fact it was sadly Huddersfield. Brentford suffered a double loss on the day with not only losing three points but £60,000 of revenue they could have gained from selling Saints more tickets, with 5,000 empty seats they could have done something for us even if it was only the odd block, the old away seating area in the far corner was completely empty and could have been used, it would not have taken that much policing etc. But Saints went and did what they had to do and now they just need to get those three points that although doesnt make it a mathematical certainty would leave Huddersfield needing to verturn a 16 goal deficit to pip us.
