Despite scoring a stunning goal each midweek, there will be no guarantees that Michael Brown or Dominic Poleon will start today's clash at Leicester.

Poleon and Brown were on target as Leeds edged past Chesterfield in round one of the Carling Cup, both goals contenders for goal of the month at least, but the duo may well find themselves back on the bench as Brian McDermott is expected to bring his big names back having made seven changes on Wednesday night.

Despite some reporters saying McDermott has a full quota of players to pick from, they seem to forget Sam Byram's hip injury. Last season's player of the year has not played since April and reports this morning suggest the whites' are contemplating sending him for surgery to rectify the problem.

McDermott will have Rodolph Austin and El Hadji Diouf back, Austin has served a three-match ban imposed for being sent-off against Brighton in the penultimate game of last season. By all accounts, he had a good pre-season and some are even tipping him to take the captaincy from ex Foxes defender Lee Peltier. My hunch is Austin could start today with Diouf taking a place on the bench. Due to a shin injury, the only action Diouf has seen this summer is a 45 minute run out in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Burnley last week.

Ross McCormack, subject to intense speculation about his future will no doubt return to the starting line-up and my gut feeling is Noel Hunt will start also.

Leicester meanwhile have completed the loan-signing of ignasi Miguel from Arsenal, who typically is one of their overseas born academy starlets, Miguel, 20 hails from Barcelona.

Their long-serving midfielder Andy King has vowed to put on a show for their fans who are expected to turn up in numbers for the first time since their play-off encounter with Watford last May.

I have a nagging feeling about this one, Leicester have spent heavily up until this summer so far no no avail but maybe this is the year the charismatic Nigel Pearson gels them together, they won at Middlesbrough last weekend before seeing off Wycombe in the cup so I'm going for a narrow home win.
