Rs played well and could possibly have got an equaliser. But although the gap wasn't massive Southampton were a class above us. Not sure his defensive work is as good. Cannon still looks good but his early gloss is fading a little as he learns to cope with the demands of the Championship.

Aribo was outstanding for Saints. Chair, as usual, probably our best player, but perhaps it's time to bench him again which last time cut down his tendency to overelaborate or always cut back onto his right foot.
