codge added 17:18 - Oct 17 Pleased with a point but please stop all the back passing to the goalkeeper.Overall we pulled this out of nowhere as it looked like a shalacking at the start but we got away with a good point. We still kook very dodgy in the defense some bad mistakes again but we got away with it in the end. Che did a lot of good work as did Ings, think Walcott will be a great asset for us this year, but we need Redmond to do something.Coyr. SaintPaulVW added 18:16 - Oct 17 Really enjoyable match to watch. Walcott looked really good but seemed to want to play in the middle so Chilwell got left free for the first half hour which was a bit scary and costly. I'm sure we'll get treated to another CB's obituary again in the verdict but that second Werner goal was something special. Will Adams ever calm down for his final touch always wants to blast it when placing it may be better. Ings as good as ever. Big JV what can you say, all it took was a haircut and now he looks solid at the back and places headers. Tella looked good in his brief appearance COYS! WestSussexSaint added 18:35 - Oct 17 Good going forwards but dodgy defensively (again). Che Adam’s was MOM for me with some intelligent play bringing others into the game. Bednarek was at fault for the first two Chelsea goals although why was the second allowed to stand when there was a clear handball by Werner. Theo did well on his return. TimSaint added 18:42 - Oct 17 Would have taken a point at the start and from 2 down, but RH must be pulling hi hair out at the defensive errors we continue to make. Bednarek played his part in all 3 Chelsea goals and despite his saves, McCarthy still struggles with some of the basics and yet again passed it to the opposition 25 yards out, when it was easier to pass wide or hoof it. We looked good going forward though and Adams did well with an assist and a goal. Ings was unlucky not to score 2 or 3 and with more composure KWP and Walcott could also have scored. Walcott got better as the game progressed, so will hopefully be an asset - can he play next week ? There was lots of backward passing but away to Chelsea, that is to be expected and the boys stuck to the game plan, frustrated them and then waited for the opportunities. A deserved draw - only 6% less possession than the home team, plus 2 more shots than them, including 1 more than them on target. Lampard tried to shut up shop at the end, but it backfired big time !! felly1 added 20:45 - Oct 17 Enjoyable game of football. Always nice to snatch a late point or three. No doubt we'll we'll get the " I'm fed up with banging on about the defence " tired old routine. I'd loved to be surprised and see a more positive write up...or at least a criticism of some other areas of the team. I personally think we have an average Premiership defence...certainly nothing special but to constantly say we're dodgy at the back shows a lack of understanding of the modern game . Sky and BT are hardly going to throw literally billions at Prem football clubs if the end product was dreary defensive football that we all endured in the past. Go on Youtube and watch a game from the 80s or even 90s..its bloody awful . Probably better defenders though, if that's what turns you on. claus5 added 11:16 - Oct 18
