Circa 1983/84/85 I think

What is where "Colin's wine bar" was now?

When he's fishing it looks like the Loughor estuary to me.
In the hotel god only knows, it could have been the Beach House hotel, which is no more.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Any idea what year it was filmed (or roughly)?

Looks like by the styles. Can’t say I ever went there but looks the sort of place I’d love now.

Probably be a demand for it too. Lovely little fresh dishes cooked right in front of you. The smell of the garlic etc would be amazing.

This.

I used to live in Newton in the 80s and was a client of that fine establishment.

Colin Presdee owned it. it was later called Peppers.

Steve from PAs is best mates with Malcolm Elias who brought on Bale and Walcott at Southampton, talking to him a few months back, he’s at Fulham now.

I never went there and didn't even recognise it and I used to live a few doors down at 67 Newton road, until 83 when we moved to Castle Avenue.

I was never a wine bar type, preferred spit and sawdust pubs.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Is the Village Inn still going? I know it's closed now in this lockdown, but a blonde lady with a good personality was running it about 5-6 years ago.
I felt it had potential.

Do you remember Richard owning Barrows. He always used to pop into the Chinese for a bag of chips when he shut.

Ah Vincent, looked like he'd been in a few knife fights, like a dodgy character down the docks in an old Sherlock (Rathbone) Holmes film.

I think he was from Valencia. He had the most beautiful daughter Fran (?) and he always had very pretty girls behind the bar.

Sue did the usual Bass trick and went off sick for 6 months when her tenure was ending at the White Rose before changing Vincents to the Village Inn.

Sue left around 18 months ago. It was re-opened once or twice last year and seemed to be doing well again up until the lockdown...
