Penrith (i.e. England) had decent possession and a couple of half-chances, but made various silly mistakes. Melbourne (i.e. Australia) were clinical as hell and pounced on everything to put themselves clear in the lead. And the commentators did everything they could to make it sound like Penrith (England) were unlucky to be losing by 4 scores. They sneaked a couple at the end but in truth they were nowhere near winning for the majority of the game. Got to admire Melbourne. |
Before the game I was wondering whether Melbourne’s play would hold up under the pressure Penrith would bring. I had that completely the wrong way round. Cleary had no time to kick and game breakers like Kikau completely lost their nerve and made mistake after mistake. Worst part of the game was listening to Channel 9 commentary for the first time this season. Ray Warren makes Joe Biden look sharp and Phil Gould is all about Phil Gould.

Gus is biased (Penrith, NSW, Australia) at the best of times, but when one of his teams is in with a chance of winning something it's just ridiculous. Yesterday was appalling. I thought Warren had retired from commentating a good while back.
| Mooooooooooooooooove! on 15:42 - Oct 30 with 2150 views | terryb | What has brought about the change in my RL team - Wakefield? Three wins in a week after losing every game since February(?)! Is this a combination of Trinity getting back players that were injured or suffering from Covid while their opponents are now having those problems? Asit's Wakefield, I now expect them to lose the two winnable matches they have in the next seven days! | | | |
| Mooooooooooooooooove! on 15:45 - Nov 2 with 2123 views | Dixie_CT | Vote has gone against Toronto to be allowed back into Super League. Not sure where all this leaves the sport as it was a real opportunity to have a North American team involved and could have opened the doorway for others like New York & Ottawa. As for Broncos, we have lost a lot of players in the last 12 months. Good history of getting players through the academy system and I think 70% of the squad is home grown but huge holes to fill So surprised Danny Ward hasn’t been poached by a SL team but even with Wardy at the helm, it could be a long time away from the top......unless there is a sneaky reprieve from the Toronto debacle. | | | |

No idea but Qld are $3.30 for the win. Never seen them as long as that.

Backing Queensland as usual, largely down to the maroon shirts (and have some family by marriage who live in Brizzy - the rest are mainly in Melbourne and Adelaide). Anyway, should be some high quality stuff on show as usual.

Queensland holding on quite well, but they look like they've spent more time on the beer than practising attacking moves. Bennett - "it's only half time, we can win this". Broncos players - "what's he talking about?"
