This is despite freedom of information (FoI) requests and an order by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) that the material be released.
The university has said it was directed by the government to keep a small number of the papers private until told otherwise. “They’ve spent hundreds of thousands of pounds and brought in two top QCs, and this fight has been going on for four years so I can only imagine there’s something [interesting] there otherwise why would they bother?” said Lownie.

That’s an easy one. Trevor didn’t know he had been drinking. Henri Paul had gone off duty at 7pm and was called back at 10pm. It is believed he spent these three hours drinking the equivalent of eight glasses of whiskey thinking he had the night off. As a functioning alcoholic with a high tolerance he didn’t appear to be drunk to others but that alcohol was still in his system. As were sleeping pills and anti depressants.
Couple that with the flashes from the paparazzis cameras potentially blinding him it’s a recipe for disaster.
The suggestion that this was a deliberate hit is absolutely moronic. I mean if they had just worn their seatbelts they probably would have all survived with nothing more than scratches and bruises. Hardly a watertight assassination attempt really. | |
