He was offered one, but refused to accept it. He is currently in talks to join Southampton as Russell Martin highly rates him.

It is true that he only made 17 appearances in his first season at Swansea, but he has left after playing 98 times for them.

Overall, he has already played over 200 times for Rangers, Rotherham & Swansea combined. That would appear to me to be a very decent career!

Fair enough BUT he was kept out of the team for a year by Mr Bidwell. Has he signed a new contract?

re Manning bottom line is its far more lucrative for a championship player to run their contract down and move on a free each time taking a higher wage and a healthy signing fee than it is to be sold unless you are going for big money to the prem. Seeing it a lot now, and again its killing clubs like ours and Swansea and Blackburn
