It's still my opinion that a good manager uses the tools at his disposal and if he can't get the tools he needs then he makes do. he doesn't ignore any player without giving them a fair crack.
Martin did the same thing. If Williams isn't backed for next season what does he do, use a smaller number of players and moan he's not been backed? What if injuries and suspensions bite?

Looking at Kuharevich's foot work and ball control while warming up seemed excellent, the times in which he has come on have varied from trying too hard making mistakes, to comfortable in the central role with good movement and finding space behind full backs with his distribution, I hope whatever his problems are can be resolved and he can be used to his full potential, It does seem as if Yates is seriously dropping down the pecking order with Cullen deserving of a new contract, win on Saturday to let Williams have a good look at other players in the closing games of the season. Looks like we will never know, his longest appearance this season was one half of football, he scored.
All his other appearances (three in a row for one minute) add up to one game of football.
How he can be judged as to how effective he would be is beyond me, he hasn’t had a chance. | |

Perhaps he declined because he thought he had a fighting chance of getting into the team given who else we had up front, a hard working local boy with a goal or two in him who would surely benefit from having him as a target man, and a winger who is a valuable second half sub and neither may not even be here next season and surely he cannot be lower in the pecking order than Yates. | | | |
