I went to the baseball at Wham! yesterday and of all in-stadia eating I've seen around the world (and I include the US in this), I've never seen a hot dog as big as was being devoured by many. I'd say at least 24 inches/60 cms in length, smothered in God knows what, it looked awful. I can only imagine how awkward it would be to eat and for those sat around a person doing so.
However, it was what happened during a break that was car crash viewing: they got two fat-fooks out to have an eating competition. Looked like two blokes sucking off a teletubby.

I've only been for the football, but it took us about an hour to get from our seats into Stratford station. A proper pain in the a rse - I couldn't do that every other week. |  |

Folks were leaving early, so we stayed until the end. Then we went to a nondescript bar, which did have Brookly IPA on tap, and waited it out there for a while.
I'd say if everyone spills out at the same time, it would be awful. | |

I went to a "ball game" during a recent trip to New York - Mets v Arizona at Citi Field. I have no idea what was going on but you can drink in your seat so that's one thing they've got right.
They have huge food court type areas inside the ground and it seems a lot of people come there to eat and drink and watch the game on the screen rather than in their seat which bemused me. Then they rushed off to their seats after the game to watch a 30 minute fireworks display.
They absolutely love a statistic and bombarding you with information but I reckon I'd have made more sense out of the heads up display in the space shuttle than the scoreboard. My missus kept asking what was happening and I just threw out some quotes from Moneyball with some random percentages to 3 decimal places like ".274 OBP" - I think I fooled the locals. |  | | |

Agreed, saw the Red Sox at Fenway Park a few years back, really enjoyed it even though I didn’t know what was going on it passed really quickly but as you say lots of locals just sat in the bar socialising and watching it on telly, I suppose if you play about 60 home games a year you can’t get invested in all of them.
Didn’t like the repetitive “let’s go Red Sox let’s go” chant though!
At pretty much each innings break they had a presentation on the pitch of local sports teams or military.
Would definitely do it again though.

Newcastle away in the prem a few years ago. We were on the back row, which at SJP means you would have a better view from the International Space Station. Anyway, some absolute mad lad decides his seat is definitely, 100% in the middle of me and my mates, so squeezes himself in uncomfortably. Super weird guy as he was wearing shorts and flip flops in Newcastle in January.
Proceeds to spend the whole first half taking selfies of himself saying "wassssssssup" into the camera. At half time he suddenly barges through us, shouting "IM GONNA SHIT MESELF". And he run waddles off down the stairs, leaving one of the most foul, wretched odours I've ever encountered behind him. Like a sulphuric belch from the fires of Hades.

prob best idea , second time at the OP last time we had hospitality so was hammered by the time we got out about and hour after the gig finished , got into the station pretty easily but issue was no poxy trains to moor park so cabbed it from white city home , | |
