Var bias to big clubs 10:10 - Nov 4 with 1428 views | SalisburySaint | Yet another example of inconstant decisions in favour of big teams Martinez knee high challange on Palmer yellow card. Stephens similar challange v Un̈ited rightfully straight red Both decisions on the basis of those in charge of VAR.

Var bias to big clubs on 12:23 - Nov 4 with 1264 views | MattFinish | What about Tarkowski’s challenge on Archer? Didn’t even go to VAR Plus how come it took about 4 minutes for VAR to decide Everton’s equaliser was offside. It was clearly off. I think they were deciding what repercussions there would be if they gave it VAR officials are incompetent and VAR is not fit for purpose

I think we have got to a stage where we need VAR II in place to monitor VAR! Staffed by ex-players not the oafs currently in charge of VAR, VARDV (VAR Decision Verification) would overrule VAR’s frequent wrong decisions and criminal bias towards the top clubs. Hostesses could serve coffee and snacks whilst we wait 9 minutes for VARDV to VAR VAR - so to speak… OK, I’ll get my coat 🙃⚽️ [Post edited 4 Nov 14:44]

Hi Matt,do you if that decision was at Old Trafford for Man U it would have stood for them?

Tarkowski’s was checked by VAR and was a yellow. It was a shit challenge but defo a yellow. The lines for the offside should be the easier thing to review and should be automated using the technology. Unfortunately it’s not so we have the clowns still involved.

I didn’t realise VAR checked it. That makes it even worse When you say it’s definitely a yellow I would disagree Law 12 of the official FA rulebook stating that the following must result in a red card: “A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play. Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.” I think the challenge meets that criteria | | | | Login to get fewer ads

But that is completely open to interpretation. It was a crap, unnecessary challenge from behind, it was aggressive but not dangerous. Again my opinion.

I’m sure if it was Harwood-Bellis I’d be saying yellow 😉 We probably got away with one with the Bednarek challenge although Dyche only appeared to see one of those challenges 🤣

I was level with Bednareks one and it was defo a yellow. Harwood Bellis was covering, I was more fuming with Beto for not staying on his feet and getting a shot away. It seems to be the modern way though to go down.

This is a great idea and realistically the only way to fix VAR. I worry though that VARDV might also make mistakes. To be on the safe side, they should prob introduce VARDVDV at the same time. I mean, on reflection, really it might be best to do away with the actual players and the ball completely and just bring in VARdecides-result (VARDR) and then you’d only need Garth Crooks to run it, the season could be sorted in late August and we’d all save ourselves a lot of money and stress.
