I never thought I’d say this but I’ve lost all interest.

I’m probably an outlier on a football board but up until now I’d have rather Wales won the World Cup than the Swans win the Prem.

Now I think I’ll leave Welsh rugby until there’s significant change at the top.

As Builth points out when the Merit Table existed you’d regularly see a full house at the Gnoll and the same at St Helens etc. Then comes 2003…the formation of the regions where the supporters were sold the dream that Wales had to do it….despite strong protests from said supporters…to accommodate the professional era and for the National side to be competitive on the world stage….and in principle it did work. Wales were successful to a point where everyone took it for granted.
Then the bean counters took over. Money from pay per view was important…investments not rugby related was important…corporate income was important along with advertising and commercial income. The National team thrived…but the rugby base dwindled and no one in the WRU noticed…didn’t care until we get to the now when the golden generation of players retired and all of a sudden the lack of quality replacements was highlited.
It’s a very sad day when what was akin to a religion to some will end up in the courts who’s decision hammer yet another nail into the coffin of rugby in Wales no matter what the outcome
Apologies for my rambling…it’s just a very sad day.

Hold my hand up and say I could not be bothered to see The Ospreys at The Liberty .

AWJ , Biggar, Tipuric and the rest of seasoned Lions on our doorstep yet supporters paid big money to see them out in the Southern Hemesphire on tours .
Use it or lose it springs to mind again .

Tin hat time but Sky and sign up fees for non terrestial broadcasters in the norm now .

Players leaving Wales for security and long contracts is necessary for their livelihood and not an issue .

The thought of attending a Wales 6 Nations game at 100 notes to be surrounded by drinkers back and fo to the bar or toilets has really put me off again .

This is precisely it. If people couldn't be bothered to go and watch the Ospreys when they were doing well, their howls of outrage when those paying the bills decide to pull the plug ring hollow.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

It wasn't the Ospreys that went into liquidation and had to bailed out by the WRU. Cardiff should have been left to disappear, problem solved. One team in the East and two in the West as it should be instead of the other way around, Newport and Cardiff could have merged instead of the WRU throwing money at the problem.

The entire structure depends on WRU funding. It's like county cricket being dependent upon money from the ECB.
