Anyone reckon it was quieter
Are people seeing sense
Seems the biggest bonfires and most fireworks in “ deprived’ areas ; the ones who “ struggle to put food on the table” but able to spend on feckwit fireworks

God knows how firefighters feel

It was definitely quieter around by us. The last few years it has been more akin to a war zone with the whole house seeming to shake under the blast of VERY loud fireworks. This year it wasn't just quieter, it seemed there were fewer going off.

Whilst there’s relatively few kids in our community here , no fireworks at all were set off
However on a nearby estate a massive bonfire of pallets was set alight
Ok if you’re a kid but not so good for older folk or pets
It’s tone this was banned

Plenty of bedlam in cities and fire crews put under pressure they don’t need

It wasn't as bad as usual around my area it was loud for a little time but eased off with only one of two now and again, I did think to get some myself just to piss off our neighbours, it was only a passing thought as I passed the firework shop up at Ravenhill last week whilst working, my back is still bad so I couldn't have set them off anyway

It was nice to see it dry for once on firework night, the weather is normally raining or at least unsettled.

I have dogs both of which hate the things , currently one of them is comatose due to the prescribed medication given to help his anxiety so not only do we have to worry when the next air bomb goes off ( £10 a time ) now I’m worried if the medication has caused further problems . I’ve no issues with controlled displays but these random occurrences are the bane of our lives 😡

Yes, we had to sedate one of ours last night because last year we really worried he'd have a heart attack he was so stressed. Then I woke up at 4am and looked at him, I thought he was dea! Scared the crap out of me.

The meds weren't cheap either, £285 all in (with a calming gel for the Pointer added in) and the worry that they won't wake up or maybe would have an allergic reaction or other side effects.

Loud fireworks should be banned, end of! Not fair on animals.

It was quieter here but I reckon there’ll be more tonight as it’s a Friday. No problem with the colourful ones but the loud ones make it sound like a war zone.

It’s a chav thing now T
Rather like Halloween
Most shocking , most scary etc
This is all about the loudest bangs , the biggest fires
It’s a feckn fire
It’s also 3026

You don’t see mega fires of detritus in areas deemed “ middle class”

It's tonight Saturday I think most people will be celebrating the demise of the Catholic uprising but they wouldn't probably know that

I spent far too long last weekend explaining to a stereotypical’ ex pat that Bonfire Night wasn’t a thing in Spain and never has been. Nor anywhere else in Europe. He just didn’t get it. Then I used Boxing Day as another example.

I had to leave the bar by the back door as it became very wearing.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Boxing Day is one of the UK's greatest gifts to humanity. I prefer it to Christmas Day.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I fondly remember the boxing day matches when I was young. The team with the most players sober normally won.

The first fixture I look for when they come out is the Boxing Day one hoping that we're away.

Boxing Day should be for scoffing leftovers and getting slowly pissed in the house whilst not having to pretend that you're happy to have visitors.

I think a lot of Brits won't get the Three Kings festival either. We make such a big thing of Christmas in this country and go way over the top . Where as in Spain festivals and occasions are a monthly occurrence.

I can't be doing visitors on either day as I've got older, parents are gone now so we don't see them sadly, used to see Brother and his family on boxing day, but that fizzled out, normally leave it to NYE these day and go out for a meal and drinks lunchtime, that's worked pretty well so far.

I thought we'd dodged a bullet until I went for my morning drop off and the bathroom stank of smoke - left the window open.

There's been a fog everywhere today and no wind to clear it and everywhere there's the whiff of damp autumnal firesmoke.

Tonight loads of fireworks going off everywhere despite there being a public display and bonfire last Saturday. down the local Rec.

It would seem round here at least it's still very popular.....and bloody annoying!
